I don't see that way at all. How can you call him a baby? Have you read into his situation or heard his explanation at all? I really think you should reserve your judgment a little.

I guess I see it much differently. He was beat out by a canidate who, no question, had more on his resume than Sandberg did.

I lost a lot of respect for Ryno through this whole thing, but to each their own I guess...

Why not stick with Iowa?

Because he's made it pretty clear that his goal is to be a major league manager, not a triple A manager. The Cubs did what they felt they had to do when they hired Quade. He's doing what he feels he needs to do. I don't blame either party.

Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg hired by Philadelphia Phillies to manage Triple-A team - ESPN

Talk about being a baby. Dont get the chance you "think" you deserve, so you make a lateral move to another franchise...

The best way to get a new job higher up the ladder is to beef-up your resume with lots and lots of different experience. Sure he's still AAA but he's in a different organization with a different culture... No such thing as bad experience. And didn't the Phils draft him originally?

Could this be the opposite of his playing days? Goes from Phils to Cubs and becomes Hall of Fame player. Starts his coaching career with Cubs then goes to Phils to dominate? I hope not.

Clarify- not that I don't want him to succeed, just want it to be with the Cubbies

Yet he accepts a Triple A managing job for the Phillies. One could argue that he took a demotion...

Manuel is getting up there in age and being the Cubs just hired a new manager I'd think he'll get at LEAST 3 years. I could very concieveably see the Phillies job open up before the Cubs. Besides, the Cubs turned him down for that job, why not try somewhere else?

I see it that the Cubs turned down this generation's Hall of Famer, who was proving himself pretty nicely in the minor leagues for a guy with no name and really nothing to suggest that he's going to get it done on the major-league level.

The Cubs made it clear to Ryno that he wasn't their guy, so he moved on.

Guy gave his adult life (professionally) to the Cubs, and that's what he got. I think the Cubs blew this in a big-time way. Nothing about Quade yet tells me this was a good call.
