Well, hurt or not hurt, he didn't break 40 yards against a big 12 opponent. I would need to see more evidence he can be productive against good teams. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out this spring and fall.
Did you watch the Iowa game? He ran for 100 yards against the best defense we saw all season. That’s when he was healthy

Fair point, one game though. I think he'll have to fight off Harris for carries but that is just me. There's a reason we went to the portal for a RB

Agree. This Stanford kid was not brought here with a conversation about being a backup RB. He was brought here with the stated opportunity to be the RB. Sure he will have to earn it but Brock best be up to the task of being the man or he will be on the sideline.

Yeah, because we were shorthanded on running backs. Duh. We were down to three returnees.

Expecting Arlen Harris to be some kind of savior to the RB room is over the top. Overly optimistic, at best.

I don't think he is a savior at all. I think he was brought in with the promise that he could have the opportunity to compete to be RB1. Nothing more than that but that kind of statement could not have been made with honest intentions when Breece was coming back for year 3. So yeah, it is possible for Harris to be competing for carries. Meaningful ones at that.

Out of high school Arlen Harris had offers from Iowa, Florida, Penn State, Michigan, Kansas State, and many others. To me he was a more sought after guy in HS than Brock was. We will see.

News flash. This staff doesn’t bring in mediocre running backs to fill out a roster. Of course he’s good enough to compete for playing time.

Join me on the trenches and receivers hype train!

@bozclone this is sarcasm fyi.

Every season it seems like we hear about these two position groups as the next thing and it's not.

I do expect improvement in the Oline though. That's not saying much I guess but imo it was a really important hire.

Any improvement we see from this team this year will depend entirely on the improvement of the OL.

If the OL doesn’t improve, the team won’t be improved.

I won’t be holding my breath…. we get told every year it will be better, and it never is.

Agree, with one quibble. The team could also be improved if special teams improves. Really bad in 2 of 3 phases last year. Making either of those good would give a couple more wins.

I am glad we got him.
But, he obviously did not impress the Stanford staff.
