I remember him taking all the best players from Iowa, so glad he is retiring. Yes, I am petty too.

Roy Williams, who led North Carolina to three NCAA titles in his 33 seasons as a college basketball head coach, has retired, saying, "I no longer feel that I'm the right man" for the job.www.espn.com
What are your favorite memories of Roy?
Mine was sitting three rows behind him in our student section. 5 of his bench players walked on the court during a live ball (10 Jhawks on the court) when the ball was on the other end and flipped off our student section. Roy laughed it up with them, like a deep belly laugh.
It's what I instantly thought of when Melvin's "finger" was considered some major thing and how serious Ejim and Fred handled it, for Roy that type of thing was just daily operating procedure.
Yep, I was at the final four in Phoenix for that one. I had been hoping for anyone BUT UNC to win (Gonzaga, South Carolina, Oregon), but in the end, it was a blast just being there.
Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Guthridge, all seemed to be successful.

WTF are you talking about? He won a title in 2005, 2009, and 2017. He was runner up the year before, and would've won that title if not for the walk-off by the Villanova guy. Also had three more elite eights and a final four thrown in that UNC career. So in 18 years there he has 3 titles, and 5 times advancing to the elite 8 or farther. That is almost 50% of the time going at least elite 8. Yeah, that's terrible, such an under performer...
Go look at coach K's tournament record at Duke in the same time frame that Roy was a UNC.
