On that, I'd give KF rep if I could. Good choice not going on Rome's show and just shows how much of a moron Rome is for still whining about it.

But he made fun of Iowa and that's not nice. No one here ever makes fun of anyone or anything so we should be mad. Wait, Jon Miller makes fun of Ron Zook, (I'ts very funny, Jon and keep it up.) But no one else, right?

Re: Rome

So what's wrong with all of that? Doesn't seem too crazy...

Wasn't supposed to be a bad thing. I just thought it was neat to see an athlete write a letter to the editor. How often does an athlete put their name out there especially in regards to something they have learned?

The mentality of some people on this website never ceases to amaze me. The very notion that half the people here never picked up on Rome's sarcasm proves how little you understand about the show. Just about everything on his show is sarcastic. If you don't like the show fine, but I've yet to find a national Radio/TV personality that anyone here approves of. Many posters complain ISU receives no national publicity, then when some love is given, be it sarcastic all they do is belittle the host. I obviously thought the entire bit was hilarious and will take any type of pub after the MBB and Football Seasons we've endured over the last 4 years.

the only bad publicity is no publicity, anytime we can get talked about for things we do well, I am all for it

Amen. Wrestling is Iowa State's most successful athletic program, but averages less than half of the fans of women's basketball. Our wrestlers are some of the best athletes in the country, regardless of their sport.

True story:
Tuesday afternoon, I saw Leonard Johnson, who wrestled in high school, at an ISU individual wrestling workouts. He came with Eric Thompson, Iowa State's true freshman heavyweight.

He said he'd probably never practice with the team, saying "he couldn't keep up." I said he'd have the conditioning to just drill, right? He just shrugged. At the beginning of the football season, he wrestled because he liked the aggressiveness.

Wrestlers train and take care of their bodies like few other athletes - all year round. A high, high percentage of ISU wrestlers graduate too.
