Rivals has rated 3 of our commits. Luke Knott is a 5.5 (3 stars) and Quan West and Grant Rohach are both 5.6's. Respectable ratings all around.

I'm pretty sure these are new ratings, but if this is old news then I will prepare for my thrashing.

New, thanks for the update. I'm guessing now that Hill has an Iowa offer (instead of no other offers) he'll get a 5.6.

There was talk about Knott being a 4 star, but it looks as though that is unlikely to happen.

Not that it's a big deal, because stars don't matter, unless we happen to get a bunch of highly rated players with lots of stars, then they do.

It looks like they've just done the first round of offensive three stars. There are some guys who were recruiting on defense that are easily three stars yet aren't rated yet.

Ya it is still very early in the process. The most accurate rankings won't be until after their senior seasons obviously.

Fairly sure it's just the initial position rankings, there will be more offensive three star players.

Keep in mind Rivals has very little in the midwest as far as personnel. I believe their midwest guys started 247sports but I am not sure on that.

I see grant is only a soft verbal
He's solid. Read Chris's interview with him, he's originally from Iowa and wanted to play his college ball in Iowa. He is getting looks from some Pac 12 schools, but I wouldn't worry. Brackens was listed as a soft verbal the whole time last year.

Pretty fair I think. I think Hill will be pretty easily a 3 star so that gives us 4 3 star guys before June even hit. Not too shabby.

Hill was on the original Rivals 250 watch list before they narrowed the choices down. He was going to get at least a 5.6 regardless of an offer from ANY other school.

Damn good start to this years class if you ask me. The first couple of commits last year were mainly 2 stars. It's refreshing to see a three three star start (will be 4 three stars after Barkley is ranked). I think Barkley could get the highest ranking for three stars with a 5.7 rating. He's a big in-state committ for us.

A little late for that. And frankly, I never saw Hill listed on the original Rivals 250. Just Darboh. I saw it the first day it came out. I think this is a bit of urban legend.

You guys do realize that Rivals is working their way down through the rankings, and is already through the 5.6's?

Hill is a 5.5 3-star.

Doesn't matter what they are as long as they can come in and contribute.

This is the first time we have ever had our first 4 recruits all rated higher than 2-stars. CPR is doing a great job evaluating talent and offering early. Hopefully the staff can hang onto all 4 of these kids and keep reeling in the talent.

I'm not sure what is going on over in IC but they only have 1 committ so far which seems to be lagging for them. Any ideas Hawk fans? Small # of seniors? Targeting higher rated players that they have to wait on? Just curious if there is any concern or if they have just changed something in the way the evaluate and offer kids.

Well, either that, or Rivals simply said, "Hey, if they have schollies this early, we might as well rate 'em with three stars!":skeptical:
