So sad. It was interesting the growth her character of Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan made during the 11 year run of the show.

Her character had to grow after Larry Linville left. Frank & Margaret were really just comedic props. Once Larry left they had to do something else with her character.

Maybe a little but her character in the movie, played by Sally Kellerman, had kind of a similar arc. At first she was hyper-militaristic along with Burns (Robert Duvall) and despised Hawkeye and Trapper but by the end after Burns left she had mellowed a lot and was more part of the gang.

Saw her once a few years ago at an autograph show. I was in line for another person when she came walking down the hallway. She passed pretty quickly, but no doubt everyone recognized her immediately. Definitely an iconic show and character/actor.
