Everyone talking about recruits possibly leaving kNu another school that might loose some players is A&M they had a lot of early commits to coach Fran that were some good players they could have a lot of players back out of those verbals. With Chizik probably knowing a lot of the kids and coaches ISU may be able to go in and get a few of the kids that decide not to play for Sherman.

Don't expect too much, i'd be happy with about 4-5 more 3* guys i would be stoked with our recruiting class....however, don't expect a lot of A&M, with Sherman is name recognition and this coach has a lot of respect out there, not from me, but from a lot of coaching circles....i don't know if he will succeed at A&M, i pictured a chizik type of guy there with the LOOK that supporters want, as well as success....after all he took one of the best qb's in the history of the nfl and made him look horrible....good play callin!!!!

I too believe that coach and his staff are out there working it, i would not be surprised to hear about a certain 3* db recruit committing before weeks out....and then on to Clearwater his hometown....oh yeah also the hometown of one of our most treasured recruits right now Joe Marshall.....he's a hometown boy, we should get him....common Joe, sign baby sign!!!!

Anyhow, the 2008 football class needs about 8-10 more recruits and we need some talent, regardless of position at this point....our recruiting class is above Iowa's and i would like to keep it there....

I think Sherman at A&M fits. After their Fran debacle, they were looking for someone with A&M ties who knows the history and expectations that go along with that university and football in the state of Texas. They want a return to the success they had in the 90's and it was going to be either Sherman or Tuberville as both were assistants there during that time period.

I know with certainly that Chizik works hard to keep his recruits underwraps as much as possible. Unlike other coaches who want to brad about how well they are doing,he would rather get results than brag through the process. I know there are guys that have not gone up onthe premium boards that we will see. It willjust take some time.(Like the deadline)

Alot of the guys I was hoping for seem to not be very interested in us. Joe Marshall will be going to minnesota. I assume he hasnt committed because he doesnt have an offer. Zaviar Gooden seems to have ruled us out. Dont know about Hoch yet and Cedrick Mack would be awesome. Not sure what his timeline is. Dwight tucker seems like he is destined for vtech. Leonard Johnson might come here depending on how chiziks visit went. BJ Daniels would be good but why do we need a qb. None of the running backs really impress me that were still recruting. Hopefully we get a good reciever in this class as well

I really like the possibility of Myron Dillard coming to ISU. Has anyone heard anything about him? He's a small JC wr at 6-0 195, but with 4.28 speed I think he could really help out returning kicks on special teams. His 2006 season he had over 500 yards on kickoff returns with 1 for a TD.

Wheels, don't be so sure on Marshall...My prediction was like this, we all know that Coach Chiz was meeting with Leonard Johnson at his place this week, maybe even staying around for his playoff game on Friday. But, check this out....did you know that Largo, Florida (L. Johnson hometown) and Clearwater, Florida (Joe Marshall & Coach Chiz's) hometown are only 4.64 miles apart....you tell me, you think he's only going to meet with Leonard Johnson.....no way, he's making a personel visit up to see the big man too....Let's hold out hope....

Danials is not coming to ISU - period...his recruiting has blown up, we will not see him in Ames, plus our qb position might be a bit too much competition for him.

Hoch and Mack, definately would be great to get either or both....not really too high on this happening, i think Hoch will get a visit this week from Osborne and Mack imo is headed to USF.

Zavier Gooden, i think that this is a reach. But, he did list Kansas and Missouri as his preferred and then set up a visit to ISU....this guy is the type of athletes we need on defense to turn things around....

Realistically, i really like the athletes that ISU is recruiting, we cannot lower expectations in the recruiting aspect, this is where i think Coach Chiz and his staff will really begin to make a major difference as they focus on Texas and Florida and thats exactly what you need to do, establish those recruiting lines to various high schools and coaches just like Fry did back in the day at EIU with high schools in texas.... Thats what gave them an advantage all those years until everyone else in the big ten started recruiting the same regions.
