The fact that you automatically assume he’s going to ride the bench at Alabama for one. He might but you cannot say that with certainty.

Alabama, If he is good enough to win the job has a decent track record putting guys in the league.
Alabama has 3 other QBs whose credentials are as or more impressive. Yes, he could still win the job eventually, but the chances of winning the job early at Iowa State are far greater.

Appreciate your explanation, though.

NIL, related, but would it not be likely now that Brock’s payday is going to help our funding (if he chose to contribute)?

With “that” type of NIL going back to under the table. I don’t see Brock wanting to do that kinda thing.

Obviously, I'm very biased, but If his dream is to play in the NFL, I think he'd be better off being the man at Big 12 Iowa State than riding the bench at SEC Alabama.

Much of Brock Purdy's success in the NFL is because he had over 40 starts in the Big 12. Good luck getting that at Bama.
What if he's the man at Bama?

And what are the chances of him being the man at Bama vs being the man at Iowa State?
Not sure but we’ve basically had 2.5 QBs play for us going back to 2018.

Not exactly easy to break through at Iowa State either.

Athletes love competition. Playing with and against. Honestly I wouldn’t want a qb that didn’t think he could beat out every other qb.

Just my opinion.

Will he be a 3 or 4 year starter at Bama? Time will tell. He likely would have been a 3 or 4 year starter at ISU.

That is very true, but even more challenging to break through at Alabama. That's why last year's Super Bowl champion QB had to transfer.

@Pope Mac Jones was lower ranked recruiting wise. Sat 3 years and only started 1 year at Bama. Ended up getting drafted in the first round and getting $15 mil guaranteed.

There are no guarantees when it comes to playing time, career paths, or individual success for any player at any program.

Sure, that was pre NIL, pre prevalent Portal hopping.

Not really the same.
