Why does everyone keep saying he took a big bag of cash? Don't we have the same 20.5 million to pay our players? There's no way he's getting approved by the committee for a true NIL....I don't get why ISU has less money than Bama? I thought JP said ISU plans on spending the whole 20.5???
Eveyrbody has 20.5 million then the rest is private bonus money, that true NIL bullsh*t will only be enforced against the ISU's and less popular and smaller schools. Deloitte making the decisions isn't changing that.
Pablo Sanchez is Ken Griffey Jr. meets Rickey Henderson. If ICE didn't deport him then he'd be a superstar in the MLB right now.Best there ever was when the task involved running in a straight line. Solid contact hitter as well, high-OBP player. Lunch pail guy, surely.
Is the first par a quote taken from the Miyan to tOSU thread?2 years from now he will hit the transfer portal, why worry over the next NU quarterback phenom.
If hes good enough to play in the NFL he's not riding the bench anywhere including Alabama. The likelihood of him getting to the NFL is small regardless of where he goes honestly. He's gonna make more money at Alabama than ISU. Smart people put themselves in better financial situations. Brock Purdy is way more of an anomaly than the norm anyway. It's not like we are some secret QB factory. He's it. They have had Jalen Hurts, Tua, dude from the Patriots i cant think of his name. You are biased.Obviously, I'm very biased, but If his dream is to play in the NFL, I think he'd be better off being the man at Big 12 Iowa State than riding the bench at SEC Alabama.
Much of Brock Purdy's success in the NFL is because he had over 40 starts in the Big 12. Good luck getting that at Bama. Y
Smart people do indeed put themselves in better financial situations. The likelihood of him getting to the NFL is small regardless of where he goes honestly. Im just saying going to ISU likely doesn't put him in a better situation in terms of an NFL future. I dont understand how going to ISU makes it any more likely he has an NFL future if hes got the talent. If hes that good he'll start at Alabama eventually and get his shot. We have put 1 guy in the NFL at QB under this staff. Where you played college is slightly overrated imo. Texas Tech and Wyoming haven't exactly put out clones of Mahomes and Allen. QB might be the exception but I'd argue more playing time/being a 3-4 year starter in college is worse in terms of pro longevity. Especially for RBs and linebackers. Nick Bolton might be the all time leader in tackles in the SEC but it's also the reason hes broken down at 25. Sure getting more PT in college likely gets you more accolades, but If you're good enough scouts will find you. Brock is having NFL success because of Brock, not ISU.Smart people do indeed put themselves in better financial situations.
So the question is which approach is smarter, a shorter term approach where you take the larger Alabama cash bag that comes with a smaller likelihood you'll get the playing time necessary for getting the huge NFL payday, or the longer term approach where you take the smaller Iowa State cash bag that comes with a greater likelihood of getting the critical playing time?
Neither approach is wrong. I guess we'll all know in the couple of years whether Thomalla made the best choice.
And how would things have gone for Brock had he accepted Alabama's offer? Nobody really knows, but I seriously doubt he would have seen much (if any) playing time there and his odds of getting a shot at the NFL would have been even more remote.Im just saying going to ISU likely doesn't put him in a better situation in terms of an NFL future. Brock Purdy would have saw the field at Alabama. He would have been able to participate in the combine and stuff too. He was the last player picked in the draft and is the most prolific passer in ISU history. Maybe he should go to Wyoming or Texas Tech? You have an even better chance of being a star. And how would things have gone for Brock had he accepted Alabama's offer? Mack Jones got 17 starts at Alabama and Brock Purdy got 42 starts at Iowa State. Brock just signed a contract for $265 million and Mack will be sitting on the sidelines watching Brock.
As I said earlier, there's no right or wrong answer here. Brock did what he thought was best for himself and he's now the highest paid player in 49er history. We'll know in a few years if Thomalla made the right choice for himself.
And you think the reason Brock Purdy has made it in the league and Mack Jones hasn't is because of college experience? Brock Purdy is just better than Mac Jones. This guy named Jalen Hurts just won a Super Bowl and is on a perennial playoff team. Tua is loaded too.And how would things have gone for Brock had he accepted Alabama's offer? If that was the case we'd have tons of NFL qbs. We have one. Your bias is totally showing. We have 1 ******* guy ever basically. Me thinks it's Brock Purdy and not ISU or Matt Campbell. We must have made a grave mistake getting rid of Tom Manning then. I mean Mack Jones was a first round pick despite only having 17 starts ffs and Purdy barely got drafted. I dont give a **** that Jones sucks. Right there tells you that just playing for Bama will give you a better chance to play in the NFL. We've had 1 guy ever make something out of himself at the position in the entire history of the school. How do you attribute that to ISU being such a producer of NFL QBs?If a qb goes to bama, one thing is obvious. Surrounded by 4-5* talent at nearly all positions.
Imagine Brock or Rocco at Bama.
Then again, would they see the field, other than garbage time? I don't know.
Note the endless list of Heisman qb's, from GREAT college teams, that have been become NFL fails.
The list is endless. Going from the college "bestest" to the NFL "worstest" separates the wheat from the chaff.
Man, it would have been fun to see.
Brock with a Bama oline! Thankfully, it didn't hap!
It's kind of amazing how much you hate Brock. Weren't you the one shitting on him saying he didn't get a full ride from Bama until I posted Brock's tweet saying he got a full ride? And you think the reason Brock Purdy has made it in the league and Mack Jones hasn't is because of college experience? Its amazing how big of ******* homers you clowns are. Good ******* God I couldn't care less about a guy who used to play at ISU. Its just amazing the ridiculous **** that comes out of you guys. He had one goos season. Where the **** were they last year? Don't give me the injury b.s. either. Great players still get their team to the playoffs. The blind loyalty/stupidity that our fan base has for ex-players is insane. Kurt Warner didn't even start until his SR season at UNI and made the hall of fame ffs. Now you're gonna tell me a guy has a better shot of going pro in football going to Iowa State over Alabama? Get ******* real. Does Brock own a house in Ames? **** no. Hes only been back in Iowa because his wife lives hereIt's kind of amazing how much you hate Brock. Hes one of the top 15 players in the league. Clearly he needs to score more and be more consistent to be a 1st or 2nd team all-NBA. If you want him getting more credit you can't take every other game off from playing like a superstar. Did you know SGA went to high school with Brock Purdy? Gotta think Brock is probably rooting for his high school classmate in this one. Hali is a hell of a player though.Tell me how you feel about Haliburton.
