From what I've gathered off of the Illini forums, and I'll link below - it's an interesting read, THT is not going to be going to Illinois.
The short version is that their 4/5* PG played ball with the Mac Irvin Fire team, and so did THT at one time. But THT left the team and now MIF is leveraging that the PG will rescind his commitment if Brad Underwood takes THT.
Who knows what's true, but I get the feeling we are getting a glimpse of the actual business of recruiting prep athletes.

Why doesn't "foggy" make me feel any more hopeful that it will be us?? I mean, fog eventually clears up. Someone needs to come up with something more "sunny" for ISU than what we got. After all, there is still 4 hours left in this madness.
just what I gleaned from that as well, that will hurt Illinois for a long time, burning bridges of recruits/schools is not a great way to start for Underwood.
We have 3 very highly rated recruits adding to the stellar class last year. Nothing but good news for ISU athletics regardless of THT. But still would be cool to get him too.
At this point, I don't think even the announcement will change any apprehension. I mean, signing date isn't until November. Then there's the 'McNeil's of the world' situations. I think I'll wait or maybe look forward to and hope to see THT enrolled in August of 2018. Sorry, this thing has gone bonkers, who wouldn't be nut cup shy?

Lard was a 4 star. Not sure if that's 247 composite, or just cherry picked from one or two ratings.
