RECRUITING: ECU transfer wideout Chase Sowell had four visits scheduled after his visit to Ames, but he chose to forego those and commit to Iowa State on the spot.

Connor Ferguson caught up with him on what made Iowa State the clear choice.

Hope the kid can stay on the field.

In research he has missed a handful of games for multiple reasons.

I also saw an East Carolina fan say he cost them a couple of games with some drops. Hopefully he can clean that up

I love how players who've exhausted their eligibility (e.g., Higgins, Noel) are convincing high profile recruits to come to Iowa State. Just another indication of the power of a great culture.

I could see how a former CU player who got "Deioned" would put relationships with coaches as a top priority. He has seen first hand how a coach can treat players like cattle.

X did while he was here too but we’d all take him back in a heartbeat
Agreed, but he also mostly had that problem in a lost season, if it was say this year and cost us a chance to go to the big 12 champ or playoffs some might feel different.

Well the drop at Texas and at home vs KSU are 2 that cost us games. Win those the season looks a little better.

We should only recruit guys who don’t get injured or drop passes.
