Does anyone know of any JUCO bigs we're going after? There's a kid from Chipola CC, Joseph Uchebo. He's a 6-11, 260 center. I know both Michael Byars and coach Otz were assistants there so maybe an in? Uchebo is also from Nigeria so maybe with Ejim playing for the national team could help too. He was a high rated recruit last year.

Deron Williams Skills Academy recap

Two ISU intrests are mentioned...

By Reggie Rankin and John Stovall | ESPN.com
The Deron Williams Skills Academy was an invite-only event for point guards to come and learn from Deron Williams -- one of the top lead guards in the NBA.

Wes Clark (Romulus, Mich./Romulus)
2013, PG/SG, 5-11, 172 pounds

Clark plays in attack mode on the offensive end of the floor and he can find the open man when he draws a second defender. His offensive arsenal consists of midrange pull-up jumpers, attacking the rim and knocking down 3s when his feet are set. Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Creighton, Dayton and USC all have offered the tough and competitive combination guard.

Shane Rector (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond)
2013, PG, 6-1, 169 pounds

Rector has excellent command of the ball and scores with regularity from the midrange areas, although he can hit the 3 when his feet are set with time and space. He can also get teammates involved and is an excellent on-ball defender. Providence has offered, while Arizona, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Stanford are showing serious interest.

I've got a lot if catching up with a few stories that have came out recently. But first,

Iowa State offered 2014 PG Clayton Custer while he was on an unofficial visit today. I'll have more on Custer's visit tomorrow.

Charlie Rogers tweeted that the Iowa City kid got an offer. Probably means we are fairly worried about filling that class up.

We have a lot of scholarships to give, so it doesn't indicate a big problem to me. We have 6 open spots, one of which is spoke for (Thomas).

We will take 1 PG (hopefully Morris). We will probably take 1-2 bigs and 1-2 wings. I would say the IC kid looks like a wing.

Hopefully we can get at least 1 Juco/Transfer big that's physically ready to play in the paint.

Don't be surprised if the last of the 6 spots goes to Jok, if he's able to show he's healthy.

With that many rides, we're going to take 2-3 players that aren't highly recruited. That's just a fact because we're not in a situation where we're going to attract 6 top 100 kids.

Yeah, I don't think it is a bad thing necessarily. Plus it would get us an Iowa kid.

TERRENCE SAMUEL DEFINITELY HAS THREE VISITS IN MIND
He is a proto-typical New York City point guard and Terrence Samuel has some college head coaches after him that have had success in the past with lead guards of his make-up.
“Ive been hearing from Pitt, UConn, Dayton and Rhode Island the most,â€￾ said Samuel.
Since the June 15th unlimited contact rule went into effect, Samuel also added that he has heard from Iowa State, Illinois, Tennessee and Temple in addition to the four main suitors.
As a rising senior, Samuel is also starting to formulate a list of schools he would like to use his five allowed official visits to.
“I will definitely take official visits to Pitt, UConn and Rhode Island,â€￾ he said.
College coaches can expect to see the South Shore High School product on the AAU circuit this summer with the New Rens program.

I've had a good feeling about Thomas and Morris for some time now but I have absolutely no clue who might be next. Should be fun.

I'm hoping for Hassan Martin. He's raw and doesn't have great size (6'-7"), but is active and can finish and block shots, like a left-handed Quincy Acy. He wouldn't be much of a scorer, but would be a blast to watch.

I read that Tanner Lancona may take an unofficial visit to Iowa State in July. He doesn't have any high major offers, but is getting interest from ISU and Purdue. Another lefty big.
