Not exactly sure.
Number would be way more then 10mil. A school like Michigan has close to 1000 scholarship athletes, that’s 20mil right there. Plus once a school starts paying them they are employees. That comes with a bunch of other costs which would drive that higher. Now while a school like Michigan could cover that many of these AD’s are in the red and having to pony up 10-30mil per year is going to cause sports cuts. We could certainly see it but like NIL it is going to take a court ruling.
1000 scholarships or 1000 athletes?

Figures I am seeing is that Michigan and Ohio State are budgeting between 6 and 10m. That is chump change. And you know they aren't going add sports.

And you deduct your cyclone club donations?
We never meet the point of being able to itemize on our taxes, at least since they changed the code. So no, we claim no gift tax deductions on our federal or state taxes. Just no way to hide our income.

We still itemize. With all the different taxes out there, any amount of donations usually throws us over the top.

The original point was the contention that donations were deductable for those that donate at a high level. Yes, some donations are, but not cyclone club basic levels. You need to verify NO benefit received to qualify.

Great stuff from CW this morning.

Hmmmm, something sounds familiar about San Diego State ..

What if...hear me out...We grab San Diego State to grab the SoCal Market and put pressure on the remaining PAC schools in the following scenario

Hear me out...

Assuming we've nabbed the 4 mountain schools already, that takes us to 16 (Without Ou and T)

Add SDS to 17, but giving the PAC not much to add, then

Stanford to 18 (Not sure if they'd ever join us pleebs but who knows)

and then Wash and Oregon to 20.

And if the ACC implodes, we have room for 4.
There are a lot of people on this thread that are convinced that San Diego State is a horrible add. It could be, but both CW and Wilner are plugged in way more than most of us and both see the value there.

OR, a lot of people are being played. I wouldn't put it past people to have orchestrated something like this.
