Re: Rashad Vaughn

Didn't take time to read a few pages back. But whoever said we arn't in serious contention doesn't know what's going on. We are probably the favorites at this point.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I didn't say we are not in serious contention. We are in his top five, that has been already confirmed. Just think UNC is the front runner unfortunately..

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn had just an OK first half. Had a sweet pass, and a layup on a fast break. Also missed a shot from point blank, and traveled. Not horrible for his first game back from being out for a while.

Sounds like our team lately.. :) He is destined to come here.

Kentucky is the one to beat. Not UNC.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn has some lofty goals as he looks toward his college career.

“I want to try and get a championship,” he said. “That’s the first thing on my mind going to college. That’s what I want to do – go in there and contribute to my team right away and win a national championship.
“After that, the goal’s just, you know, get to the NBA. So that’s the dream, that’s the goal. That’s what I want to do.”
Not sure what article that is from. The article I was talking about that was just posted from the zags blog said this:

For the rest of the year the focus is just on this season, and the goals are simple.

“Just win a national championship and get better,â€￾ Vaughn said.

Just because you disagree, doesn't mean you aren't wrong. I can see where the initial confusion is, but if you re-read the article, that should clear everything up.

I did again unless we are talking about different articles.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

So he has not even visited and will not visit KU? Interesting. Where is the coach guy on this?
He has been to KU for some unofficial visits. KU is only interested in him if Selden leaves. If he is looking to wrap up his decision before players have to announce for the NBA Draft then KU is out and that's just fine. We have two Top 50 wings sitting on our bench fighting for table scrap minutes right now in Greene and White. Adding Vaughn may force one of them out the door via transfer. I'd rather keep Selden (who I think stays vs. going to the NBA Draft) and have Greene/White first off the bench who have both been in the system. KU has too many freshmen contributors this year. Too erratic. I'll take more experience, please.

Oubre is a baller. He is going to be awesome at KU, unfortunatley for us. And since Oubre is going to KU, I would be shocked if Vaughn did as well.

It does seem like the true great teams (Exceptions of course) have a blend of top ranked talent and experienced multi year players. When these schools start grabbing blue chippers, it seems to trigger a chain reaction where the guys are constantly new so you have to deal with multiple turnovers, bad decisions and many times losing to teams with far less talent which would be a bit infuriating.
