Not exactly sure.
so person with sloppy resume was a bad interview as I expected. A joke was made if I noticed errors on the next person's resume. I did. They butchered a month. "Well no one is perfect" said person who is no longer in charge of hiring. I get that. But again, these are not affect/effect errors. This is literally, you did not bother to run spellcheck on the document that is giving your first impression to employers. I'm not sitting there with a microscope trying to nitpick. It's literally that they are so obvious that they jump out. That person seemed ok but not my first choice. If this were a role where little details weren't a big deal, I'd let it fly. But this will be a role where noticing tiny differences could have a big impact.

I get another one today. Extremely slick, highly.......marketing-type resume. Little icons for contact info, stuff down the sides, clearly this person is trying to say they are hot ****. They give themselves a fancy title right under their name. AND THEY ******* MISSPELL IT! Literally right underneath their name is this glaring, big font mistake. Then they tell me how they are detail oriented and "attention to detail" is the first thing under their list of skills they gave me.

I feel like the old man yelling at clouds for wondering what is up with all these kids these days and not knowing what spellcheck is.

Say it.........darn millennials!!

Sometimes.....sometimes.

Had a Corona Saturday, trying to remember last drink I had. Before harvest. May have went dry for 4-5 months. Probably when I was hanging with the hobos.

I can't stand it when someone goes out to smoke then then stops at my office on the way back. I am so glad I quit smoking so long ago. It reeks so badly.

I had a slight hangover Saturday Morning on our Gustavus Adolphus College visit after the neighborhood Christmas party. It seemed appropriate to visit a college while hungover.

I never smoked much when younger but cigarette smoke never used to bother me unless I was sick. Anymore, I can smell cigarette smoke from a block away. It still doesn't bother me all that much but it's just so noticeable anymore since it's pretty rare.

That's the big thing. People can't smoke just anywhere anymore so you just aren't around it that much. Even after I quit it never bothered me. Once they changed the laws so you couldn't smoke in bars and most public places it made a huge difference. Now it is so strange when you go to a state that allows smoking in public. I stopped at a Denny's in West Virginia on the way to the ISU vs WVU football game a couple of years ago and people could still smoke in sections of a restaurant. I didn't think that was even a thing anymore.
