******* robo scammer calls are leaving messages now which they didn't used to. Annoying. Yesterday I supposedly needed to call regarding my subscription to some antivirus thingie or it would automatically renew. Oh, no! Today I need to call this investigative service prior to my hearing with "the magistrate judge" or face "suspension" of my social security number.

I've got more respect for a common house burglar than these ******* parasites that prey on vulnerable adults. If someone was running for president and said "I'll put a stop to robo calls by the end of my first year in office!" it would be more important to me than most of the **** they spout.

Just wait until the political survey/ask for money calls start........or have they already? I don't pay much attention to the land line anymore.

Hit the leaves hard this weekend.....got the back and side yards pretty well done, plus a last mowing (very short, so easier to rake in the spring). But the front yard is the real obscenity, 3 huge Autumn Blaze maples - luckily they are almost completely bare. So will probably run the leaf vac after work all week, and likely have 10-12 bags to set out at the curb on Thursday night.

It's stupid of the neighbor to ignore something like that. The likely rot isn't even hidden in this case. At some point I have to have my big silver maple taken down. It's okay now but maybe getting to the point where I'll have the Davey Tree guys take a couple test cores. The neighbors huge house, thousand big oaks and the hill raising above me to the west do give me a lot of shelter from storm winds.

Your FIL could legally cut anything that hangs over his property. Might piss the neighbor off but would lighten the load. I'd at least have a certified arborist give it a visual inspection from the FIL property. Doesn't sound like the neighbor would cooperate and let him give it a first hand inspection. If he thinks it is a hazard they could at least send a certified letter to the neighbor requesting trim or removal. Can't force them to do jack **** unfortunately but it would give home owners insurance some argue room if they want to open that can of worms if it falls on the house. It's one thing if a house is damage, another IMHO if someone gets hurt.
My daughter had a tree that they were getting cut down. Unfortunately, a storm blew parts of it down before the tree people got there. Put a hole in the neighbor's garage. My daughter's insurance was liable for the damage.

I have 7 bags from the back yard. Got all the leaves, then dropped the mower down one notch and gave it one last? mow. Unfortunately one tree back there is being stubborn and holding onto it's leaves.
Tomorrow I might come into work a 1/2 hour early and leave a 1/2 hour early so I can get the front. Just a mow should take care of it. I should be able to get that done in 30-40 minutes (20 if I don't bag.)
I finally broke down and bought one of those inserts to hold those lawn and leaf bags open. It makes a difference.

Furnace ran all weekend so I guess that's fixed. Had to get a new control board installed.

Can you send me a link to that insert for the lawn bags? Appreciate it.

Speaking of land lines. Found this in the garage yesterday along with a 1986 receipt from Radio Shack. Would have been the year I bought the house and was wiring the bedrooms for phone line. And, yes, this was tossed in the recycling. I don't have a land line anymore.

Based off of LittleWx's current aiming skills I don't think he will be allowed in Boxsters house so I guess he will be coming to ours every time.

Note to self, clean guest bath.

Company just left. I broken one of my cardinal rules of retirement, "Don't get up before 7:00 unless the house is on fire." Little boys loose in the house at 6:30 is sort like a house fire though.

Threw a 3/4 size football in the alley with littlest grandnephew this morning. Was a good test of rotator cuff rehab. Shoulder was hurting from work outs and leaf nonsense but throwing didn't hurt. Boxster was accurate but lacking a tight spiral. I wasn't ever known for throwing a spiral anyway but I am still going to blame the smaller ball and not the fact I haven't thrown a football in a couple of decades.

I think any thought I had of bagging more leaves just vanished with the current downpour of graupel. 2019 and it's cray cray weather can EABOD's. Starting to doubt fall yardwork is going to get done. I need several days where it isn't wet or frozen and don't think that's going to happen.

Edit: Now turned to big flake snow in spite of it being 38 degrees.
