My daughter is considering going into her school's International Baccalaureate program (it's a pretty new program and only a handful of kids go into it each year). There isn't a whole bunch of unbiased and good info out there about how colleges look at IB programs and tests. Do any of you know how ISU (or any other college) looks at IB programs for the purposes of earning college credits versus more traditional AP programs? Any help or advice is appreciated.

I can probably get you the contact for the ISU placement recruiter for Minnesota. She lives here in the Twin Cities.

AP didn't help me out personally very much. I started out as a sophomore in terms of classification but was still in college for 4 years.

The pizza delivery guy got mugged in the stairwell in Storms when I lived at Towers. Granted it was a dangerous building with many of the Donnie Duncan football team living there at the time.

I think AP and IB are treated pretty much the same at ISU but my kids never did IB.

AP helped my kid get both a Bachelors and Masters in five years. He always just took the credit and took the next class in sequence but a lot of people retook the same class at ISU just for an easy grade, especially in the Calculus sequence.

Yeah I don't want to work on the weekends which is why I'm probably going to quit my current job. Might just get a job at target or somewhere else

If you don't work any weekend as a delivery guy, you aren't going to make much money. And your boss likely wont hire you if you say you wont work weekends.

I told my manager at Gumby's that I would work any weekday, and Sundays, but Friday and Saturday were off the table. Fridays are for pre-football parties and Saturdays are game day.
Then he got mad when he required that everyone work on Halloween, which was a Friday. I was hosting the Halloween party so I wasn't going to skip it.

So I quit.

So I am a sucker for almost anything on clearance at my favorite store. These water bottles seem to be what the hip, rich, health-conscious moms I know use. So when it was 50% off, I got one. The first time I used it I wasn't impressed. Today I have been slow to drink my water and has been nice to have it cold. I know there are a million of these types of containers out there right now. But now I can seem cool. Sitting in my own house where no one sees me.

When I lived in Towers, the football team had a counterfeit ring going. I guess violent crime was trending down on the football team at that time. Wait. Does holding up a Burger King count as violent crime?

That's a huge help. Thanks. And it helps me know what to look for at the other inferior colleges out there.

They told the players they could "have it their way", and didn't deliver. What do you expect?

Ooh fancy. My wife has a big containter that she takes her ice tea to school in. It stays really cold all day. Good stuff.
She bought her teaching associates smaller versions for X-man.

WShen you guys start looking at colleges (which I know will be in a while) let me know. I was a tour guide and have seen what questions are good/not so good to ask. And ask as many questions as possible, it'll be useful and embarrass your kids
