Milo is sooooo confused tonight. He has been freed from kitty jail permanently but he's downstairs crying at the closed door of the sun room because he wants to go to bed. Poor baby.

So yesterday I was on the motorcycle just south of Kansas City. Then the Google street view car passed by. I pulled up behind it and waved. Now I'll have to periodically check to see when it uploads

Love this time of year for college football but it's also the start of old cheesy Halloweeny movies shown on different channels.

Gingerly tested the bulged neck disc today with first bike ride since April. Did a super soft 11 miles with a stop at the local beach. Beach was busy which is crazy for September 28. So far so good. More issues with runny nose, aftermath of my Iowa cold. Going through tissues like crazy.

Helmet liner, gloves and bike pack all had mildew/mold on them from the damp summer of sitting in the garage. Gross.

Going to bed for the third time. Maybe third time's the charm and I will sleep more than 1.5 hours this time. :(

Hope third times was the charm. Had bad sleep night at hotel last weekend which is the norm for me traveling. Couple bad nights at sisters and than one there where I slept in till 920 and hadn't woke once all night. Since I'm home again it's sort of the same. I am all over the place, sleep straight through or get up a million times.

I was awake a lot last night, too, although I didn't get up. I did hear an owl sometime early morning and have been trying to figure out what it was. Checked 2-3 websites with audio and so far, no luck.

Either Barred Owls of Great Horned Owls. The GHO is the classic "Hoo hoo hoo". Folks describe the Barred as "Who cooks for you. Who cooks for you!" but I've never thought it sound quite like that. If it evolves into a crazy calliope of wild jungle like calls, it's a Barred for sure.

This article has them both and might be a good reference. I have a couple videos of the calling but can't link them.

The thing is, the call wasn’t either of those. I’ve heard barred owls, even two at the same time. The call was a single sound - a little higher pitch which then went down slightly. Reminded me of the shape of a candy cane.
