I do know for a fact that Blalock and Stinson left ISU because of Morgan's inability to recruit the players they wanted. They had firmly decided to leave before Morgan was fired and that is a fact. I have talked to people that were in the conversations and they stated that Blalock and Stinson both were very upset with Morgan's ability to get them the support they needed on the inside and as a second PF, and secondly thought he wasn't doing enough to coach the players they did have.
You can love Will and Curtis all you want but the fact is they even had their doubts about Morgan after the first third of the season was wrapping up. And they have always been the ones that were thought to like him the most.

Thats kind of a surprise to me. I cant blame them for having that view because thats the view i have now about him. I admit that i was high on morgan when he was coach. I was drinking the cool-aid. I was a coolaidaholic if you will. I was so pissed about his firing that i wanted to pull all my donations to not just the Athletic program, but the university that i attended and love. But when Jamie pollard got mcD, i started to think. I looked back on what morgan had done to our program and began to change my mind. Now i look at morgan as the worst possible thing that could have happened to our program. He ruined it. we wouldnt be in this position if he had coached his players and cared about them instead of himself. He cared about the stars on the team but not the hardworking ones. If thats the kind of coach he wants to be he'd be better off as an assitstant in the NBA, which will never happen.
Discombob...i respect your opinion but these recruits are not bad no matter how you spin it. They are talented 3-stars, which is about equal to a 5-star here in the spring. they will work hard for McD and play hard. Your right, we may have a crappy season, but maybe not. What if, by the grace of god almighty, the recruits actually do good? What would hapopen if McIntosh, Taylor, both Johnsons and Dunson all become consistent players and we have an 18 win season? The odds are against us but at least two of these guys should step up. Add Clark, Marsden, and hopefully Hubalek to the mix and a great coach and staff and even you cant deny that is going to be an exciting team to watch.
Although, i agree with you that it may be tough to replace the juniors-to-be when they graduate. But i also agree that it is important to win immeadiatley or we will have no one to fill the schollies anyway. At this point i think we should try to get stiggers and bank the rest of the schollies even without him. Now that blalock is gone i wouldnt be too against the smith kid, but i agree we need to have some schollies for the next few years.
In conclusion, dicombob, we disagree on just about everything but if you werent here posting we would have a pretty boring site here. Thank you.
