R11 vs R9 or other drivers

So im looking at buying another driver when golf season begins. My golf pro that I take my lessons from and deal with for all my other golf needs, has a R11 driver that he is willing to sell me for $200. Now I know that is a great price but just not sure if there is another driver out that would be better for me. I currently have taylormade R9 irons along with the R9 driver. Love everything about what the R9 product does. But just looking for some suggestions as to what others have experienced or play with on a regular basis. Thanks in advance to those that reply.

If you haven't hit a Titleist driver, I'd give them a try. You can't go wrong.

Basically brand new, he said its only been hit about 20 times.

If it is the R11tp model, $200 is a great deal. If not i would look at the new RocketBall driver TM came out with.

I got the Titleist driver summer, it's a solid driver - but not as hot as the TaylorMade.......wish i got the TM.

Titleist is the one driver I would be willing to try. Titleist is also my pros sponser, so there may be a chance he would have something I could try.

I swtiched to Titleist a few years back. I'm not a big fan of buying new drivers because I don't feel they really shave strokes off of your game, but dang, is it nice to hit compared to anything else I've used. I picked mine up used, only a year old and I would recommend at least hitting one sometime.

I swtiched to Titleist a few years back. You are correct in saying it doesnt shave off strokes, I will admit I just like to have something that feels great, has a nice pop when you hit it and a little added distance is always nice.

Believe it or not the Adams 9064LS driver is highly rated and an amazing driver. The RIP shaft is excellent. Plus you can get it brand new now for $100 since it was released 2 years ago.

I'm a Titleist fan though, driver, irons, wedges, putter, ball. Titleist knows how the game of golf should feel.

I need a new driver too after i cracked the head on my old one last year. Thinking of getting a Ping G10, tried one of those for a couple weeks and loved it.

I switched a year or so ago to the Ping G10 driver and love it. Better distance and accuracy compared to the Titleist and Taylor Made drivers I have used previously. Ping is always a solid choice... they make great clubs.

Went to golf headquarters since thats all CR basically has and kinda got a good ides about what I would need for shaft and loft. Kinda cool to actually get things fit to your swing. Never done that before last year.

Ok so ive been golfing for years but have never switched shafts or been "fitted" for a one. Hopefully this doesnt sound dumb but what is the difference between all the different brand names of shafts? Is it just the weight of em?

Different weights, different flex, different kick points, etc....

Not all shafts are created equal. Once you get checked out and find out the specific kind of shaft you should be looking at to fit your swing you need to demo the particular driver you like with several different brands of shafts if possible to find the one that performs to your liking.

Be aware of the drivers you are looking into and check out some reviews. Some drivers are designed these days to help you get the ball in the air by the weight distribution in the design of the head. When you find the driver you like with the right shaft for your swing make sure you get your numbers checked again just to be sure. Getting the proper launch angle for a particular driver takes some trial and error.

Very helpful to know. Ive really been thinking of sticking with TM just because I have had all TM drivers before this and have loved em all. So if I did stick to this and buy the R11 from my golf pro, im sure he would help me tune it things. I also told him last year that I was wanting to get fitted for shafts. I bought a brand new R9 4 wood that was the head only so I need to get one for that reason anyways. Hopefully I can find one for the R11 as well.

It won't be an issue particularly with an R11. You can pretty much adjust that club to do whatever you want it to do.

So ive been looking online at some of the different brands, but just have no clue. I know I will have to test them from my golf pro but just curious what shaft is the best bang for your buck. I know most TM drivers have a fujikara shaft and curious where those stand? Are they above average for a stock shaft? Just looking for some opinions. Thanks
