Happy Thursday!

Here’s that Q&A I mentioned.

We have availability tonight so I’ll get some video up for you guys! I am talking one on one with Chase Straw today which I’m excited about. Had an interview with Metcalf last week and we talked about Chase which I think will be really good content for you guys!

Weather permitting, I’ve also gotten all my credentials figured out for UNI dual!

Hope you enjoy!

Pretty candid answers from Dresser! Love hearing about practice habits improving, that's where it all begins. As mentioned before, KJ could bring talented, driven wrestlers to a new level, but Dresser has changed the culture to where EVERYONE improves every day based on practicing the right way.

Great interview, thank you!

Great job! Thank you. Your questions prompted very interesting responses. I particularly enjoyed the bits about how Metcalf is progressing as a coach and the need to transform practice habits...and the top10 goal set at the beginning of the season.

I always have really good interviews with him. Always candid, very laid back so I’m glad we did a Q&A this time instead of a mid season review! I think this worked out really well.

I had an interview with metcalf too that I’m working on! It went so well that I’m trying to do more with it!

The thing I like the most @jcordova8 is this is original material. A lot of articles about Iowa State wrestling in the past were copy and paste. Most Iawrestle, The Mat, etc, were articles from Cyclones.com or someone's material.
THAT’S A THING OF THE PAST AS LONG AS I AM AROUND!

Story Co.
I told them last year, ‘We were pretty bad but the few instances we had some good results or even a takedown in a tough match, the roof would come off. Do you understand how bad these fans want to win? As we progress, if you’re looking for motivation on those cold weekday practices, if you go perform there isn’t a better fan base to wrestle for in the whole United States because they love wrestling and they love to win.’

Preach.

That is solid, solid stuff in there. God, I try not to get to excited but to me Dresser is awesome. He's one intelligent, hard-assed coach. I'm so glad Pollard nabbed him.

This was perfect. Wish more coaches would talk the way he does in interviews. Makes a fan feel like they are really getting to know the ins and outs of the team.

I wonder what kind of relationship former wrestlers have towards the current staff? The only reason I bring this up is that I have a cousin who wrestled under Douglas & brother-in-law who wrestled under Cael and neither of them seems to want any part of the program. I have never asked them why, but they seem very distant from the program.

If Dresser keeps us moving in this direction, he should be named Coach of the Decade!

I think some don't/didn't like the idea of the Iowa guys running the program. I think some are coming around. Cyon Williams was one and has discussed it at different times on Flo.

Go look at donors on CRTC site. McCall, Galea, Backes, Gibbons, Land, Nacin, Kelly and many more are all donating.

Even Jeff Kerber of Emmetsburg (Iowa) & Pete Bush are donating to CRTC.

You probably wouldn't have any links would you Buf? That mentality seems so dated, think we everyone agreed we needed to change the mentality of the program. Shouldn't matter the background of the person in the end if they represent the university and wrestling program successfully.
