He made lots of mistakes today. He missed a short pass to Breece that would have went for a TD. Threw behind Hutch. Thew one ball right between Kolar and Hutch. Overthrew an open receiver by several yards that would have been a TD. And then fumbled a 2 point conversion.
This is the problem. People want him to be beyond elite. Tom Brady misses throws sometimes. That doesn’t mean he’s bad it just means he isn’t perfect.

Purdy definitely made mistakes today. That doesn’t mean that he played poorly.

Yeah he missed a couple throws and he fumbled the snap. The 2pt conversion shouldn’t have been under center. That’s on the coaches for putting him in a bad spot. He still went 22–34 for 263. Nothing groundbreaking or anything but far from bad.

Barring injury Brock will start every game this year.

I think the loss was a team effort. D gave up a lot in the first half before settling in the 2nd. Special teams giving up a return for a TD along with some other long returns. That shanked punt killed us. O line didn’t play well most of the day. Brock had some missed throws. Bad luck in the tipped pass for int when we were driving, fumbled snap on 2pt conversion and the missed fg are things you can’t do and expect to win games. Amazed we lost by just 2.

Special teams miscues cost us. Offense had nearly 500 yards and outgained Baylor by 200. Only thing they could have done better is finish drives that ended in field goals. Purdy missed some throws, but didn’t look that bad. Good to see Breece break it open. Not sure what they do about punting. It’s too bad that top rated punter flipped to CU late, we need him.
He was a kicker, not a punter.

What made Brock special was his scrambling. Now we refuse to allow him to scramble, in fear of him getting injured. That is a massive error his staff has made. Allow Brock to be the wild scrambler! If he gets hurt there is insurance behind him in Dekkers. Brock is the QB1. But we have to let the guy be the guy! We aren’t and he isn’t right.

What about Brock's health?

Purdy is fine, sheesh. How was he last week against UNLV? You want Patrick Mahomes? Purdy is NOT the problem. Is he perfect? No. The pass protection is the problem. Purdy has no time to throw. Breece goes for 190. Its pass protection folks. That needs to be better.

I know he has broken all these records, but think about it, we really haven't been QB University. I think he has gone backwards!!!! missing throws, behind receivers, flying out of the pocket. Maybe Manning has made him worse. I don't know. You can disagree if you want, but if my wife says I am right, then I must be on to something!
He's fine. Shut the **** up and sober up.

I think the pass pro has been good. We just aren’t playing to Brocks strengths. Coaches aren’t allowing him to scramble and make a play

Purdy has an injury we don’t know about, unless it gets banged up bad we won’t find out until the off-season. He can’t throw a deep ball for anything. He threw behind hutch today on an easy pass. He hasn’t looked good all year. I’m worried when we play Texas and Oklahoma it will be exposed more. I’d say 7/8 wins here we come.
If this is true it explains a lot. It’s the only explanation that makes sense, this was supposed to be the year that he was a stud elite qb, at least that was my expectations going into the season.

He’s also added more muscle mass. And I’m wondering if it was too much. He looks slower than he used to be. Does anyone else notice that?

I think you're right - Brock can't throw deep effectively (it's either him or receivers) but in any case defenses bring pressure knowing we can't make the long pass play.

I think that's part of it but after watching a ton of college games today, I swear most of the teams quarterbacks have more time to throw than Brock does. An actual pocket to throw from. Maybe I'm being too harsh on the offensive line tho.

Yes Purdy looks slower to me. It happened to Sam Richardson as well.

Someone brought up a good point about Purdy. As good as he can be, when the moment matters he always chokes and turns it over. Today, Big 12 championship, Iowa, ok state. Dude cannot stop turning the ball over when it matters

I think Purdy is doing pretty good considering his lack of time to throw the ball. A lot of his picks are deflected off defender's hands or off our own WR's hands. However, he has had a few easy throws for 1st downs that were way behind the receivers. I think he will get going well in Oct as usual.

He was a kicker, not a punter.

Posted this in another thread, but goes here too:
That kicker is Cole Becker, and man we could use him!!

Cole is a true freshman at Colorado, and is placekicking for them. He's 7-9 on touchbacks for the year... and one of his non touchbacks was his first kick of the year. The other, they stopped them at the 16. (He's 0-2 on fg attempts, both longer than 40 yards).
