2) Baylor
3) UT
4) KSU
5) ISU
6) WVU
7) OSU
8) OU
9) Tech
10) TCU

Central Iowa
1. Kansas
T2. Iowa State
Baylor
4. Oklahoma State
5. Texas
6. West Virginia
7. Kansas State
8. Oklahoma
T9. Texas Tech
TCU

Feeling optimistic. Not going to be much of a difference with the middle of the pack. I expect Oklahoma to be much improved even though I have them finishing the same spot they did last year. Also feeling a big drop for K-State this year.

Not too bad except Baylor is too high. ISU 4 or 5 is what I would guess

The Des
Obviously Kansas has to be 1. They have been too good for too long to predict otherwise. TCU will bring up the rear, with TT not far behind. OU is rebuilding. It will be interesting to see how KSU does with a new coach, as well as how WVU does in a new conference. I honestly think our team is better this year than last, but in a tougher conference top-to-bottom. I think we end the year with a 6 seed.

1) KU
2) UT
3T) ISU
BU
5) WVU
6) KSU
7) OSU
8) OU
9) TTU
10) TCU

"consensus" projections are boring, let's mix it up a bit.

1. WVU (now that KU is the permanent consensus #1 by everybody everywhere, this is the year they don't win it)
2. KU (no good PG really hurts them, that's my thesis)
3. Bay (I love to "short" Baylor, but Pierre Jackson will win games by himself, despite his coach)
4. ISU (assumes we can play defense)
5. OU (lon kruger + experience + new talent)
6. KSU (bruce weber does better with guys he didn't recruit)
7. TX (talented freshman, but still freshman)
8. OSU (chemistry issues with Nash, JP Olukemi ineligible)
9. Ttech (who cares)
10. TCU (who cares).

Could we see standings like this?

WVU 14-4
KU 13-5
Bay 12-6
ISU 10-8
OU 10-8
KSU 9-9
TX 9-9
OSU 9-9
Ttech 2-16
TCU 2-16

8 b12 teams in the tourney - hah.

8 teams in the tourney is a possibility, but WV will not unseat Kansas in it's first year. If it does happen, it will be Baylor, Texas, or even (fingers crossed) us.

Kansas and Baylor are probably the two best teams by far IMHO. 3-8 are all interchangeable. Texas Tech and TCU will only get wins against each other.

1. Kansas-They return 3 starters from the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] best team in the nation last year. They add 3 top 50 freshmen to the team(McLemore, Ellis, Jones). They have won the Big 12 nine years in a row and Bill Self is their coach.

2. Baylor- They have great upperclassmen guards. They also have 2 top 40 freshmen posts(Austin, Gathers). J’mison Morgan the RS Sr transfer from UCLA will help them too in the post. O yeah they have been to two elite 8’s in the past 3 years.

3. Iowa State-Lost our top 3 scorers but add Clyburn, Lucious, and Niang. We have experienced guards including 5 seniors. We will take a step back on offense, but a step forward on defense.

4. Texas-They don’t have one junior or senior playing for them. They also lose J’Covan Brown their leading scorer. They return 5 of their top 8 players. They add 4 top 100 freshmen; 3 of them being post players. I see them being more balanced this year not having to rely so much on Brown. They will take a small step forward.

5. Oklahoma State-They lose Keiton Page but replace him with one of the best Shooting Guards in the class of 2012 Marcus Smart. They also lost Brian Williams to injury and possibly might only have Olukemi for the first semester. They are very thin at post. This is my mystery team.

6. Kansas State-They return 8 of their top 9 players. They lost Samuels their second leading scorer and didn’t really replace him with any good freshmen. They have a new coach too so I think they will take a small step back.

7. West Virginia-They lost their top 2 scorers from last year (Jones, Bryant). They also finished 8[SUP]th[/SUP] in the big east last year and lost in the first round as a 10 seed. They add 3 talented transfers though(Murray, Humphrey, and Staten-all averaged close to 10 pts or more at previous schools). Huggins has been to the NCAA tourney for all of his 5 years at West Virginia.

8. Oklahoma-They return all 5 starters and 6 of their top 8 players including 5 seniors. They also add transfer M’Baye who is supposed to be a stud, along with a few talented freshmen guards. Lon Krueger is a great coach too.

9. TCU-They lose their top 2 leading scorers and haven’t been to the NCAA tourney since 1998. They have a solid transfer from Arkansas (Abron) and they return a couple good players. Trent Johnson is an okay coach as well. All that gives them a slight edge over Tech.

10. Texas Tech-They have below average players and a coach with zero head coaching experience. This earns them a 10[SUP]th[/SUP] place spot.
