1. TCI is not going to happen again the players hated the amount of walking the course requires.
2. Talons is not going to happen either
3. Wakonda a big maybe. The logistics would be a nightmare.
4. Harvester would be great if it wasn't in bum **** Egypt. So thats not going to happen.

Any talk of Jester Park, Echo valley, Norwalk, Pella is crazy talk those places are not getting a SPGA tour event.

I think its going to be DM Country Club or nothing.

Also I was listening to Miller & Brinson when they were talking about this around 4 but didn't the Sr. Open in 99' use holes from both courses? They were saying it made sense for members there because only 1 course would be un available. This could come up again where they use both courses for a single event. I could be off on this fact though.

How do you get the company big shot to sign off on this ....
Reup your golf tournament for 3 years and then say you dont have a golf course ?

Someone must have some great sales skills or a master plan we dont know about... or one heck of an out clause in that contract if they cant find/make a suitable golf course for it.

The Senior Open was a mix of both the north and south course at DMGCC.

If Echo Valley had two nines like the Ridge nine it would be the easy choice, but the other two nines are old and boring.

DMG will not happen. It's USGA events or nothing for them. Plus they are starting some huge renovations very soon, in hopes to get another event.

DM golf used 9 from the north and 9 from the south for the Sr Open rotation. I see no way they host it. They want another event like the Sr Open and i think even tried for the women's open around 08. They also are planning renovations as said earlier soon 9 holes at a time.

Miller was talking about how they would still have a course to play since it is 36 holes however that is not that simple. 750 regular golfing members is hard to keep happy on 18 holes of golf.

Grandview is way too easy for a big event like that. It's not a hard course. the new clubhouse is nice, though.

I agree with all of this. Strictly talking golf, Harvester makes most sense. I can't imagine the drive would be something to make or break the tournament. I would assume there is a decent drive to a lot of tournaments based around metro areas. Of course i could be wrong on that too.

On the road...
I was just going to bring this thread back up but you beat me to it. There was really no chance for it to be at DMG. I know the membership and the board very well and they are to put it nicely, snobs. (not all, but the majority) I know the guys at The Harvester are trying really hard and I know Echo is trying as well. It's going to be interesting to see where it ends up.

We can all thank the Glen Oaks people if this tournament leaves this area. Pretty decent money maker for the town may be down the tubes.

Just how many of the 1,400+ families that have memberships at DMG&CC do you really know? I have belonged there for 25+ years and I have not had the same experience because the majority of the members I know are not snobs.

Do you ever even been to DMG&CC?

Perhaps you don't realize if they are snobs if you are also one?

Ultimately, I blame the snobs at Glen Oaks for this great tournament leaving Iowa.
