I think it’s funny they think they can just somehow stop someone who has rushed for over 100 yards every single game and leads the nation in rushing. The bottom line is if Purdy plays like he did yesterday, Texas’s defense will get eaten up.

My point exactly. If Texas sells out to stop the run, Purdy will eat the Texas secondary alive (which their fans admit isn't any good). Eventually either Texas will have to adjust and/or their front 7 will tire out, meaning either way Hall will eventually get his. It's exactly what happened with K-State yesterday.

Purdy just needs to keep his head and not make the dumb play. If memory serves he only had one throw into triple coverage yesterday, which is pretty good for him. Doesn't matter how well we play, if he has multiple turnovers or a pick six its going to be hard to overcome.

I pray Texas sells out to stop the run. That's exactly what K-State tried and it was 35-0 at halftime.
I don’t know how good Texas DBs are at defending the pass, but our receivers have consistently struggled against man coverage. Even Saturday they struggled to get much separation, Brock fit the ball into some very tight windows.
They will need to continue to improve or stacking the box will be the death of our offense again like it was against Ok Statr and Louisiana.

Is there a line on how many yards Ehlinger will run for? Over/Under on that will be around 100. I don't feel good about this. I hope we can out-score them....but Vegas usually knows and the low 2 is getting a bunch of Texas money on the table I am sure. Probably end up at 3.5.

Yes, but UT has a different level of athlete than KSU. We'll have a much harder time against them even if they use the same tactics.
True, but OU has the same type of athletes as UT. They’re also just as good stopping the run.

Remind me again. How well did selling out to stop Breece work for the Sooners?

If we can bait Sam E into running for short yardage gains that's a win for us IMO. Mike Rose, Isheem Young, Orien Vance, Bankston, Lee, Enyi will get some hits on him - I think by the end of the game he will be a sore, sore man.

For our D 3rd down defense is going to huge, as it always is.

Almost 3 weeks off, which is not great all the time. Players tend to lose focus with a bye week. They are probably really losing focus with that much time off. As someone else pointed out, ISU coasted yesterday. Sure Hall got 135 yards, but on only 15 carries. We didn't see any Clones down on the field yesterday, and they got some reserves playing time. Also saw Ramos out there playing which is a good sign for the OL.
Defense only played 47 plays according to Bruns

I'm pretty sure Texas offense will be a significant step up in quality compared to KSU version that showed up in Ames. Connor Assalley field goal to win at the end.

A lot of quality control coaches are assigned to start scouting work 3 weeks in advance. So while you're right most of their focus had been on KU, I'm sure they already had a very good start on scouting ISU.

I guess my point was, nothing really changed because their game got canceled this week other than the fact that they didn't have to play. There was really not alot of extra prep work done on Iowa State because their game with Kansas got canceled.
