Weber is a horrible recruiter. Good thing he can coach. I think Weber needs to shake his assistants up a little and hire a good recruiter and salesman.

On the other hand. There is something about Pomlee that I like. There is something these coaches don't like about him. I think the coaches know more than me.

I wish we had a terrible recruiter...then we could go to national championship games too!!!

The players that took Illinois to the NC were recruited by Bill Self. Weber has not brought much to the table on his own since arriving at Illinois. That has been a huge knock on him since his arrival.

I've seen the potential grade issues from several sources. I don't know if it was a result of his illness or what, but GMac seems reluctant to hold a spot when there are other good options out there....

Plus Weber just hired a new assistant (former player now on the Kentucky staff) that may impact recruiting.

I think the Illini will be okay.

Coaching - GOOD
Recruiting - BAD

They are freaking out in Illini land.

For the record. Nobody stops recruiting kids with bad attitudes. They don't recruit them because of trouble with the Law which L.A. has not had any problem with. They also don't recruit them because of Grades. That seems to be the knock is he is not going to make grades. So quit with the L.A. might have a bad attitude. Coaches always think they can stop the bad attitude if the kid has enough talent.

I'm a nomad.
I read on a blog that Pomlee is really big into the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. I don't think ISU needs a player that is not willing to put basketball first or second on his list of priorities.

Great Point. A college players priorities should be as follows.

1. Basketball
2. Grades
3. Avoiding alchohol
4. God-but only if he made you play better
5. there momma

I'm sorry but I'll disagree with you on this one. If I'm a player with the potential to play basketball in the NBA or even Europe I'm only putting enough effort into classes to stay eligible. Maybe I'll pay some attention in a buisness class, so I'll know to invest some of my money instead of buying Hummers for all of my family and friends. But the rest of the time I'm working the skills that'll pay my bills later on. Like my crossover.
