Best pizza I've ever had was cut square because it came on a cracker crust. That's Pasquale's Pizza in Humboldt. I've had Chicago and New York pizzas too, so there's that. The pizza I had at some place in New York that I wish I could remember the name of came in a close second to Pasquale's. And, no, it wasn't Famous Ray's. Their pizza was mediocre at best, I thought.

FWIW even though I like slices they don’t really exist much in Italy.

A good restaurant will give you a round pizza uncut with a knife and fork.

Street pizza or “pizza rustica” is typically made in gigantic rectangular pans, you order by weight depending if you want small or gigantic, and often they’ll sandwich the slabs and wrap half with some paper to hold.

NYC style slices are incredible and as American as apple pie imho.

Buddy's Pizza in Detroit, square. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.

A Detroit style chain Jet’s started exploding in Chicago just before I moved. Square pieces that reminded me of Pizza Hut pan in the 80s when they still used good cheese and sauce. Not too bad really.

You're right, Jet's actually is really good.

We probably need a school lunch poll thread. The only time I ate school lunch was pizza, chicken patty on a bun, chili & cinnamon roll, and any day with that peanut butter cup with little chocolate chips on it were on the menu.

I think the hamette was underappreciated.

If anything other than chili and cinnamon was even close to winning I’d bet probably kill myself because that world isn’t a world worth living in.

A thin crust pizza that's a little crispy in squares . . . everything else with crust.

I don't even like crust that much*, but I like something to hold onto.

*Exception: stuffed crust pizza.

There’s nothing like eating a fresh Napoleon style pizza in Naples with fresh mozzarella. Best mozzarella I’ve ever had.
