Obviously Realmuto had no intent as it would have required him to not only have eyes in the back of his head, but for those eyes to also be capable of seeing through his helmet.
It's a BS ejection, but I will say it was clear Kimbrel was trying to mess with him continuing to request new baseballs. I can maybe see where the ump thought Realmuto was also messing with him, but it's of course nonsense because Realmuto couldn't have known the exact moment he was going to drop the ball.
In any event, more reason for robot umps.

Must be a slow day in sports media, as usual. I'm already sorry I responded to this non-event.
Probably the weakest ejection in the history of baseball. This ump should be suspended for a while. He needs to know the fans come to see the players, not the umps.
With an attitude like that he shouldn't be umping at that level.

Well, I'm glad someone is finally taking action against this out of control lowering of the glove. This thuggishness has been going on way too long.
