Anyone use any of these? Looking at some online, just wondering which are actually worth something. Having sever issues on my laptop with it taking forever to boot up, speed issues, etc.

Best "reviews" I saw were on WinASO and ARO 5.

Currently use Spybot for spyware and will run Adaware periodically. Would prefer to have one software that handled it all (spyware, registry, etc).

CCleaner does a good job and is free. Have used it for years.

I was/am having issues with the same thing with my laptop so I went to Office Depot and bought a PC cleaner/optimizer program for like $30. I installed it and ran it and thank goodness I saved a back up copy because I couldn't get certain websites to work and couldn't get audio I need for work to do what it was supposed to and my computer wasn't much faster besides. I restored what I had before I used that program and still have problems but don't want to mess up the computer......

I don't think a paid software program can do any better than a free one. Plus, you're right, these programs mess with critical registry items, and that sometimes does more harm than good. Again, I am very pleased with how the free Comodo software I use does the job.
