Nice article by Paul. I seldom disagree with the guy. But anybody looking for spot on commentary when it comes to this crap is going to be looking a long time because nobody has a clue what the F is going on.

gotta agree with rebecacy on this one. Paul's articles, while well written, are just dripping with hindsight. Anyone can say "I told you so" after the fact, but where was Paul's voice when the events were actually going down? I'm not going to question whether or not he actually felt the way he claims to have, but if he did and said nothing, well, that's pretty disingenuous and cowardly. If anyone has been "imasculated" (lol) it's Paul, for showing us all that he doesn't have the balls to speak his mind until after the fact.
Same way he held his tongue on DMac and GMac until it was very very clear they were gone. Bad journalism to tell it like it is when the outcome is obvious or even in hindsight. If you read Paul's article it says GC is and will always be such a disaster that he will never be successful. He coached a team to a National Championship. And through some tough spots in close games. No matter what you think of GC, Paul's article is pure sour grapes and very wrong, as history has now proven.

I posted that, about Jizzik, who rebecacy has a crush on. He's a cheating sack of excrement. Already convicted on recruiting violation. Surely more to come.
"Auburn violated several recruiting rules this past summer during Big Cat weekend. The NCAA and SEC officials reprimanded six Auburn assistant coaches. Wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor was prohibited from off campus recruiting until the end of November.

The assistant coaches that were reprimanded were: Tommy Thigpen, Gus Malzahn, Trooper Taylor, Jeff Grimes, Jay Boulware and Curtis Luper. Auburn coach Gene Chizik initiated the self-reported violation."

source?

Regardless, if you think Chizik was oblivious, you're naive and ignorant.

Dang right I am bitter at Jizzik. Totally and freely admit it! He can kiss my yankee ***!

Now why do you love him so?
The list of coaches that have the abilities to win an NCAA D-1 National Championship is not very long. The list of National Championship coaches that worked their way there by going through Ames is even shorter.

I didn't know that Gus Malzahn coached in Ames

And there was no shortage of media willing to help out by propagating the propaganda with "fan sites" leading the way.

This is hilarious, considering Paul is basically a sunshine pumper and anybody on the boards who isn't a sunshine pumper is shot down and ridiculed.

I see no reason to bag on Paul. Both sites serve different functions.

Yeah that's where I am at, too. Like both sites. They are different so let's have both.

What I don't get is how someone that refused to go along with the ISU to the MAC/WAC doomsday prophecies is negative or pessimistic. That is what I remember most about PC's takes last summer. He would not give that crap the time of day.

Sorry, but when your site is called cyclonereport, you have to be careful about alienating the athletic dept. So I am glad he did not heed to your wishes, and catered to the subscribers that understood the value of access.

Not sure what good access is when its not really shared. I guess it works when you do the "I told you so" thing, but again I appreciate forward looking reporting and think this site is the only one to actually attempt to read the tea leaves and give us nuggets.

OU and UT want to stay in the B12 because they know the winner of their game has a great chance at a national championship game. No gauntlet or risky championship game. As long as they both feel this way we are probably OK.

This sounds promising:

"But the Aggies will not go off to the SEC without some questions directed at both Texas A&M and Mike Slive, the commissioner of the SEC.

There appear to be real legal questions from the Big 12 about the SEC's role in A&M's apparent decision to leave the Big 12 and if tortious interference is involved in possibly breaking the Aggies' contracts with their current television partners.

Multiple sources said the 13-year Fox television deal signed by the Big 12 in April for $1.17 billion can be voided if Texas A&M leaves. The sources said if the SEC, which has had ongoing conversations with Texas A&M since Mike Slive was on the College Station campus during last summer's realignment, could be seen as the instigator in A&M's actions, it could constitute a $1 billion lawsuit against the SEC as well as a lawsuit for damages against individuals involved."

A team trying to leave but forced not to due to solid legal ramifications adds real stability to the conference. And some real nasty games on a few saturdays!!!
