I'm taking a trip to the ozarks in 2 weeks me and 11 of my friends have a house rented in sunrise beach and boat rented for Saturday for party cove I just wanted to get peoples stories and opinions on what I should bring on the boat and what to expect and ideas of bars we should go to. If anyone is going to be there the weekend of the 23rd my boat will have the cyclone flag on it

Was down there a little over a month ago and party cove was raging!! We got hooked up next to a Bachelorette(sp) party which did not suck. Bring some snacks and plenty of beers or whatever you drink. Also I need a significant amount of sunscreen due to my pasty skin tone so that was a must for me.

Shady Gators is a great bar was about 2 blocks from our house and was jam packed with good crowds all three nights. They had an awesome 80's cover band both nights and a bikini contest on Saturday night. H. Toads is right around the cove but was dead the whole time we were there as they have changed management/ownership and apparently suck now.

DO NOT SPEED on your way to return your boat and make sure everyone is wearing life jackets. The cops will use that as an excuse to bust you for DUI in a heartbeat. I'd strongly urge someone to stay sober to drive the boat when you're done.

As far as partying goes, bring noodles (you can sit on them in the water, use them as beer bongs, etc.) I like using kids arm floaties because you can sit in the water and it helps you keep your beer up :)

Be prepared that things get nuts down there. We had a full on porno being shot on the boat we tied up next to.

The best man in my wedding doesn't drink and he is going with us, but just because he doesn't drink doesn't mean anything he is the crazest person I have every ment he once stole a fire hydrant by stealing a guys car who his girlfriend was cheating on him with and driving this guys truck over the hydrant. So we should be somewhat safe from cops

Do not use cruzinthelake.com. I don't think he has a website anymore but this guy is shady. It’s a 52ft cruiser, older boat, with American flag/Indians face on the back of the boat. He writes bad checks and is known around the lake for not paying his bills. I can't remember his name but if someone said it I would remember.

What time did u hit party cove I'm hearing diffrent reports on when we should get there on saturday

I want to say we got there around noon, but don't quote me I was already 2.5 sheets to the wind! The sober driver thing is huge, a guy at our party stayed sober to keep things from getting out of hand (they did anyway). We were out there until like 4-5 and then went home for some quick naps . There was not nearly as much nudity this past trip down as there was the last time I was there but FWIW that was Labor day!!

I've been there three times, and one piece of advice I give everyone going for the first time is to be aware of your surroundings. Crazy **** happens on that lake, and especially Party Cove, every day.

Do not, under any circumstance, dive into that water if you anywhere close to the shoreline. Remember, tjis is a man made lake, carved out of rock and the water is very murky. You drop your sunglasses, let 'em go, Man. I saw a dude go in after his, and never came back up.

Tie up to another boat in the middle, and be careful if you plan on jumping on other boats. Slippery surfaces plus blind drunkeness do not make a good combination. Saw a girl slip in between boats, smack her head and fall in between. She was lucky a guy was right there to grab her and pull her out, or she wouldn't have made it.

Sorry for the downer stories, but I think everyone should hear them. You'll make your own great memories, just be sure you come back to share them. It's a great time, but things like this can, and do happen if you're completely careless down there.
