So how is Roy Williams a slimy coach?

Did you never have close enough seats at Hilton to see him in action?

Roy's teams would routinely all walk 10-20 feet out onto the court when the action was on the other side. Never seen another team do this in NCAA or NBA, with Roy's teams it was just a normal thing many times a game. At any given time KU had 10-12 players on the court.

I once saw 5 Kansas players turn around at Hilton and give the bird to the ISU fans, Roy was watching it all and laughing about it with the players as they did it. You think Izzo or Coach K would laugh and support that?

When ISU beat Roy five times in a row...funniest thing...ISU never did anything to earn those wins and ISU was never the better team. According to Roy it was five flukes in a row with ISU doing nothing to deserve the wins.

I just do not like the guy, he is a creep. I don't feel this way about Self even though Self has been much better at Kansas, has beat ISU more regularly, won Big 12 championships at a higher rate, and won a national championship at KU when Roy never could. I don't have anything against Coach K or Izzo either so it's not like I just have an axe to grind with top coaches. If Barnes and Paige had chosen ISU over UNC I would dislike the guy the same amount, I could give a crap who he recruits.

just the KU memories, took the LSU kid that took money and hired a father of a recruit.

For the most part he takes really good kids. There's always going to be some exceptions. I think ISU has signed more kids kicked out of other programs in one year then Roy signed in 20. I don't know how he keeps signing Iowa players, it sucks.

the question was what's slimy about Roy. I don't see what transfers has to do with that. The kid from LSU was dirty about Slimy Roy slid him right in.

what the F does Roy has williams do to get all the Iowans that are future NBA talent? Raef, Kirk, Nick, Harrison, and now Marcus P... first 3 long NBA careers, next 2 on their way. all to Roy... i find this very strange. Not just that they all left the state, but they all went to ROY..

plus NC isnt even Top Tier at the moment... consider me baffled. He prob paid the first 3, and now every really good iowan knows Roy will pony up... i dont know.

It baffles me also. Maybe it's his huccleberry hound personality. As bad as UNC was last year with all that talent it surprises me he can still go into Iowa and sign the best players.

UNC has tradition. I don't think Marcus is an NBA player, by the way. Good kid so I hope he is.

As the coach of UNC and before that Kansas, Roy recruits all of the top players. When in-state programs are unstable, it is easy for him to pounce on the talent.

Of the five players you listed, Raef is the only one that was pulled away while Iowa and ISU had stable programs....

Hinrich was set to come to ISU but everyone and their dog knew that Floyd was soon leaving for the Bulls.

Collison was a Hawk fan, but Dr. Tom had already been told that his contract was not being renewed. He was a lame duck coach.

We all know what was going on with our program during the recruitment of Barnes. Can you imagine what all of those players who eventually quit the team must have been saying to Harrison?

Don't know much about Paige's preferences, but both Iowa and ISU had to re-recruit him due to coaching changes.

Here's to Duke, home of the smart players, to beat UNC the next five years in league.

I like CFH's point guards that he is brining in next year. The little i have seen Paige play, I have not been that impressed - i don't think he has the body to play in the Big 12 or ACC. Life will go on in Ames, and if next years squad lives up to the hype, Paige will be wishing he stayed home!

Marcus Paige has now lost to Iowa and Iowa State, and if the rumor he started is true, will be playing in Cedar Falls next season vs. UNI for the chance to go 0-3 against his home state's teams.

Now all we need is Drake to knock off UNC in the NIT

Isn't he a senior?

No, junior, and he told the media that UNC is looking to schedule a game @ UNI next year for his senior year. Indicating that he plans to stay next year. I think Roy generally likes to give his 4-year playmakers a game in their home state. I wonder if he even contacted ISU for a potential home-and-home of Ames in 2015 and Chapel Hill in 2016. As an NC resident that would be awesome.

I find it hard to believe that a "blue blood" would go to ceder falls. A home-and-home with them would be great.
