I think much like Baylor and TCU last year, K state is gonna be average. As I said I certainly wouldn't bet on it, but I kind of have a felling this is the year it starts to fall apart for them. The only thing that might save them is an easy non conference schedule and easy conference.
You know what? I hope you're right. I do think that KSU is due for a drop off, but I don't know that it happens this year. They return a lot of players from a good team. That said, with the way they run Ertz, he could easily get injured and then their season falls off a cliff.
I do disagree with your repeated narrative that the Big 12 was "really, really bad" last year. They did not have any elite teams for sure. But they only had one really bad team in KU. ISU wasn't good, but they were good enough by mid season to give pretty much anyone a game. The Big 10 DID have some elite teams, but they also had a LOT of bad teams too. That conference would be like ISU/TT/KU making up a full half of the league. Easy for fraud teams like Nebraska or Minnesota to pile up the wins. Was it better than the Big 12? Sure...for the first time in a long time, but let's not make it out to be a huge grind, because it wasn't.
