Here are three of my favorite short songs.

Even in a 2 minute song, Paul Simon's lyrical genius shines through.

On the other end of the spectrum, here's 2 great songs by the Ramones:
This one's slightly over 2 minutes but does include one of the most recognizable open lines of any song, "Hey. Ho. Let's go!"

BTW, I love all of the music from this movie if you couldn't tell. Sex Bob-Omb would be one of my favorite bands if they actually had a real album. Pretty sure Beck wrote all of the music for the movie and he's just a genius.

I bought a copy of Double Nickels on the Dime the year it was released. This was the first album I thought for songs under 2 minutes.

Late 80s alternative groove. Another underrated band that didn't get enough love in the states.

Back to the 70s. Modern CDs break this up into 7 tracks but it's really one epic song with 7 interwoven parts.

If we're allowed to extract songs from that Abbey Road suite for the under-2, I'd go with "Mean Mr. Mustard." (Can't find a suitable audio link at the moment. Not easy to swipe authentic Beatles clips online).

Trivia Snippet: Mean Mr. Mustard is one of only two Beatles tracks on which McCartney played fuzz-bass. Can anyone name the other?

It's nearly impossible to feel bummed when listening to this tune. You might be out-of-sorts before and after, but not during.
