Kenny bednarek took 4th in the 100m. His performances his freshman year at Indian hills put him on the map. Still has a chance in the 200m.

I can't say I'm disappointed that gatlin placed last. That also keeps him off the 4x1 relay pool which protects those runners if he were to get another violation.

Murphy (1:43.17/world leader), Jewett (1:43.85), Hoppel (1:44.14)

Nixon ran another PR (1:45.56), good for 7th.

Brazier, the world champ, was DFL.

Fun race to watch. Cool that Nixon got another personal best, regardless of placement.

Did Brazier have some kind of injury, or simply run a bad race?

I appreciate your T&F updates, I'm trying to watch qualifying events when time permits.

It looked to me like he started cramping but I didn't watch the replay.
I got the feeling that he wasn’t 100%. He always seem to like to run from the front, and when the kid from USC took off I expected him to be right on his shoulder.

Jewett set a blistering pace the whole way. Possible he didn’t expect to have to keep that up the whole time and just didn’t have the gear at the end. That said, a guy of Brazier’s caliber doesn’t just finish in last like that.

What are Bor’s chances tonight? I know the top 3 qualify (assuming the standard has been met). Does he have the Olympic standard already? Does he have a legit shot to finish top 3?

He has the standard, fastest personal best and 5th fastest season best. Pretty good chance i'd say.

EDIT: and the second fastest heat time (.08 behind fastest)
