Can we have one just while the olympics are going? I think it would be easier to find the threads.

Shaun White was awesome last night. Kid is on a whole different level.
And the other American got screwed out of Silver because that guy's run was in no way better.

Shaun White was amazing last night. That dude can fly. He is on a whole other level then the other guys. It was a very good day for the Americans, 6 total metals with 3 of them being gold.

I don't watch much snowboarding but a couple of weeks ago I saw him for the first time during the winter X games. He was in a league of his own during that. The other snow boarders just didn't come close.

I have been hooked by curling. I love the strategy and gameplay. Maybe I like it so much because, of all the sports, that is the one I think I could actually do. Watching the US team is very frustrating.

The personal half-pipe he has secluded in the mountains for practice is crazy awesome.

It is tougher than it looks. You have to have amazing feel and control when you throw those stones. The sweepers can only shape those shots so much.

That was the highest medal total for the US ever in a 24 hour period in the winter games.

Even better was that it came in the form of all the big stars living up to the hype. Shaun White on the half pipe, Vonn in the women's downhill, and Shani Davis in the 1000m. You also had Apollo Ohno and the short track relay team getting through to the finals. Overall, a great night for the US team, with the exception of yet another curling disappointment.

I don't want to speak for Chris, but here's what I understand of the inherent difficulties in setting up such a forum:

It's somewhat complicated to set up a forum and have it show in the forum list. The bigger problem, however, is that this forum is temporary - when the Olympics are done, all posts within the forum would be deleted if the forum itself were removed. This would affect people's post counts, credits, and history (which are a big deal to some posters). It's just not practical for something that only lasts a really short period.

Maybe we should just start and official olympics thread, complete with asterisks and things written in caps.

I wonder if we'd have a Post-Olympics Thread?
