But one Nebraska doesn't give a flying **** about.

If the B1G will allow them, Nebraska would ditch Iowa for the opportunity to play OU on Thanksgiving, in a heartbeat.

Endless win here. Nebraska ditches Iowa exposing the farce of this "rivalry" only to resume a rivalry in which they will typically lose. A perfect circle.

Don't like the idea, I loved the idea of shunning the teams who left. An OU/Nebby game benefits Nebby more than OU so, I dont like it. This is just the start of all the old rivalries that were dropped coming back.

I'm the opposite. I'd rather more of the old rivalries came back if the team's are willing, instead of sacrificing them out of spite.

Of all the games that could be scheduled with teams that left, this is one I would ahve the least problem with. I wish all the remaining Big 12 schools would stay united and tell those that left to fly a kite but it isn't the end of the world. The first time someone schedules Texas A&M or Missouri will **** me off though...

No way the B1G will allow that. Then Nebby will start crying about how tOSU runs the conference and won't allow for unequal revenue sharing. Why should mighty Nebraska subsidize Northwestern? Tom Osborne will have a press conference where he lies through his teeth and then announces they are joining a conference they can dominate, the Big East. Fake Dan Beebe has a field day with the material.

Well, considering there is a lot of bad blood between KU-Mizzou and A&M-Texas, I don't really see that happening outside of bowl games, so I don't think you have to worry.

They left out of spite, I just don't like the idea of them getting a marquee/national TV type game with a big 12 team.

Outside of Colorado and maybe Missouri, which of those teams aren't going to end up in marquee TV games with or without a Big 12 team. We might as well get some of those sweet non-conference match-ups instead of getting criticized for weak scheduling every year.

Scheduling Colorado or Missouri would be weak scheduling right now.:spinny:

I don't really like it either. And I certainly don't want the Big 12 giving the Big Ten any kind of additional spotlight during the end of the season (i.e. Thanksgiving matchup). If this game is going to happen, it needs to happen early.

Also, I'd really, really like to know if the rumoured "agreement" between the Big 12 members to not schedule the defectors is real, because if it is real, then OU doing this is not a good thing.

This is just a two-game series between Nebraska and Oklahoma to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Game of the Century" from 1971. I don't think this is anything close to the resumption of a regular series between the two schools.
