Wait... what did you expect from this season? Are claiming going to 2 Ncaa tournaments after the **** Prohm left is not good enough, and unacceptable.
My prediction was 8-10. We're gonna do that but should have been way ******* better. Instead we haven't won consecutive games since January 10th. We've blown 5 double digit leads, ****** up a few down the stretch, lost at home to 3 of the worst teams in the conference, got totally clowned by Iowa and Missouri without even looking ready to play.

None of this last month has been anywhere in the ballpark of acceptable. I'm happy we're in the tournament again but jesus what a flop. We've won exactly 2 games since leading the conference at the half way point. This is a problem and if we do this again next year then it's a full blown trend.

If they don't want to be called bad I would consider telling them to stop being bad.
Take a break man. How many NCAA Tournaments in a row does Otz need to make before you give the staff the benefit of the doubt? They aren’t perfect but was there really another AJ Green coming here? It’s not like a draft they have to choose you. And if Osun is half the player we thought then we probably have 2-3 more wins. The roster is going to flip again next year and with Lipsey, Milan, Watson, JW and Bilew that’s a nice little core. And good talent that transfer Junior and seniors will want to play with.

Please excuse my ignorance but in the flagrant 2 foul on WV did the technical on Grill negate Iowa State getting the ball like the rules say? I can see them getting free throws but the ball too?

On one hand, this is probably just regression to the mean since this team isn’t all that talented. On the other hand, this is the second year in a row they’ve sputtered down the stretch, and almost identically. TJ definitely has some things to figure out

This is true!

But so is the fact that the team has not played very well of late! People are being dramatic, but it's just as dramatic to pretend that there's nothing concerning about the team routinely falling apart down the stretch lately.
I'm in no way saying there aren't issues. I just choose to look at reality

  • We are a team with no superstars
  • We are a team with no superstars playing in the toughest league in the country
  • We are a team with no superstars with 8Q1 wins
  • We are a team with no superstars with 7 top 25 wins
  • We are a team with no superstars with 4 top ten 10 NET wins
  • We are a team with no superstars that is going to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year with a hodgepodge team after winning 2 games two years ago
  • We are a team with no superstars that played a ton of league games with players out
  • We are a team that is in the midst of a VERY frustrating skid and can't seem to find our way out
  • We are a team that must be seeing consistent scoring from three guards and that isn't happening
  • We are a team that like last year that once in the NCAA tourney can give a LOT of teams problems
  • We are a team that like last year could lose first game if we aren't hitting
I'm not happy with our play the last few games. Tonight sucked but we were better than the last three games. If we played tonight like we did the last three, I would have more concern.

I just refuse to be on full tilt when we are STILL overachieving this season.

At the time I defended Jaz and Caleb during the scrum. And while I wont blame them, they also have to know when you play West Virginia they're going to take cheap shots and play dirty. The coaches preach staying composed with the refs, but they didn't stay composed against the competition knowing West Virginia is a dirty team.

The ceaseless holier-than-thou act that comes out after every loss is exhausting. We get it, no one on here is a D1 coach so no one should be making any comments on the game other than "the coach is right always."

Who did you think ISU should have gone after that realistically would have wanted to build something in Ames, Iowa?

When did making the NCAA tournament become something that people get 'concerned' about?

His energy was so good the first half even Settles was complimentary. Jaz took his minutes second half despite not really contributing anything.
Think Jaz helps spread the floor more, guessing that’s why. Too bad we couldn’t hit a couple more shots when we were up 5-7 pts.

A criticism this staff definitely deserves is not trying to post up Osun more down the stretch when WVU went small. I don't understand why he was out on the perimeter as a part of their weave action.
He had a good post seal and missed a 4 footer as well. Don’t disagree but honestly he needs to be more of a factor.

Can’t explain the dramatic end of season downslide. However, given the talent level of this team, we have overachieved in many ways. If we make the tourney again, TJ needs to be given credit for stepping in and making something out of a bad situation. He has significant recruiting classes on the horizon. It also seems clear he needs to learn a few things from the half of famers he is coaching against in the Big XII. That should come with time.

So readjusted expectations...
This team never had the talent to compete at the top of the Big 12. TJs been pretty good, but that would be HOF ****.
