Watson is a really good defender and rebounder. If he is contributing some offense, that is huge for this team! 3 for 3 tonight and 1 trey. 5 rebounds in 11 min. Very nice!

Watson's 3 kind of ignited the team. He brings a different energy. Heise's stat line is really good. 4 steals.

Jackson has been in a bit of a slump lately outside of the KU game but is still averaging 10 points 5 rebs in only 18 minutes/game on 61% shooting, I'll take it.
Those are better per-minute numbers than he put up at Charlotte last year against much weaker competition.

Watson getting 10-15 mins per game with Milan out seems perfect. He keeps his energy level at 100 when he’s out there - great effort.

Kind of a strange game overall. UCF seemed to start out trying to muscle us WVU-style but the refs were calling a lot of fouls. Then they switched to trying to press and run and that really didn't work well. They had a stretch where they hit four straight threes within like two minutes or else this would have been really out of hand.
It would give this team another dimension if we could play more minutes of small ball. Watson (or Milan) at the 4, Jefferson at the 5?
Heise and Watson need to play with confidence to make a deep run in March imo. They give us needed size/athleticism on the wing. Glad to see both step up today

Watson is quickly becoming a fav in our house. Happy for him too, he seems like the classic lunchpail guy. And at ISU, we've always loved those guys.

I was at a game earlier this season and they were playing interviews of players and they all said DWat is the funniest guy on the team.
And he was the main guy guarding their leading scorer and kept him under his season avg.
