This has always been the norm at least the past 2 decades. It’s really loud for KU, Iowa, and one other.

To be honest Hilton has not been at its peak since Johnny was here. He would acknowledge the crowd with his fist and we KNEW they needed us to win. Every other coach has either had such great teams that we cheered for the things we saw or we didn't have a reason to cheer and the coach didn't do what ajphnnt did. They all paid lip service to the great crowd, but they never made Hilton Magic a necessary thing for a win. Johnny didn't say it out loud that often, but we knew it by the home vs. Road record.

AND with all that said, there have been great, loud games along the way. Just not with the consistency or ferocity of the johnny days.
