The size of the thread is indicative of the game being on ESPN+.

Can we talk about how ESPN+ is marketed as a service for the sports sicko but you can't start a game from the start if you've been trying to avoid the score, it has the worst rewind function of any streaming service I've ever subscribed to, and the algorithm parameters you fill out when you first join the service can't be bothered to put the stuff you've said you want to watch at the front of your feed?

People pay as much for ESPN+ as original subscribers to Amazon Prime did when it launched. And what do you get for it? These guys can't even figure out how to ensure a ranked matchup gets on over the air television. ESPN/Disney is absolutely terrible at cultivating sports content which is not what you want to see from a paid sports streaming entity. It's very poorly managed and we may come to a point where the Big 12 wishes they didn't hitch their wagon to a sinking ship if you don't mind a mixed metaphor.

Do people still try to avoid the score? That seems like a lot of work for not a huge payoff these days.

That’s by design. Why, as a company trying to make money, would they put those games on the channels that don’t require a additional subscription.

We don't often need to, but given the game's early tip-off we weren't home until a bit before noon. ESPN+ immediately let us know that ISU was up by 16 with a little time left in the half, which was ok in our circumstance. I don't know if I'd have bothered watching from the beginning if I was a TCU fan in that situation, though.

Doesn't viewership of OTA games earn ESPN money? It wouldn't be hard to argue that putting the best games where the most casual eyeballs can see them, and the worst games where the most dedicated fans of the two teams could still tune in, would generate the most income from ad revenue. Maybe their media formula is constructed in a way that it doesn't make a difference. But if I was an advertiser, I'd want it explained to me why my ad dollars were being spent appearing between timeouts of brickfests of .500 teams when better options are available.

ESPN's app sucks, this isn't really debatable.

Zero, but that's not the point.

I think it is cool that Heise has 1,000 Career points. That is worth celebrating.

What is lame is ISU putting it out there with a picture of him in an ISU uniform (only) in which he scored less than a 100 of the points.

A picture of him in both a UNI and ISU Uniform would be more appropriate - since it was a Career accomplishment and not a Cyclone accomplishment.

That's all.
They're celebrating a great accomplishment for a guy who puts endless hours into the program. It would be weirder if they didn't post something. You know we won when these are the complaints.

It is a great accomplishment, mostly achieved at UNI. It's a CAREER achievement, not an ISU achievement. I like the celebration of it for him, just acknowledge that most of it was achieved elsewhere.

15 turnovers today. 18 against both KState and Arizona. 14 against WVU. Not sure why ISU has been so sloppy lately, but I agree with the announcers they have been mostly unforced turnovers. I don't know why Gilbert and Lipsey keep passing the ball to Jackson and Chat immediately off the pick and roll when they are still 15 feet from the basket. Those are pretty much automatic turnovers.

Jefferson and Jackson were very good today. They both have the ability to use their size to create enough space to score and make it look easy.
Good point re: the pick-and-roll issues. This has been an issue the last 3-4 games where the ball handler and person rolling have not been in sync. And this has primarily been an issue when the bigs are setting the picks. I'm sure they're practicing this but it hasn't translated into the games that well.

Jackson and Chatfield don’t have the best hands either unfortunately. Although some of the passes haven’t been great. Some bounce passes seem too low. Throw that pass up high

Why wouldn't you avoid the score. Who watches a game if you know the score.

Agree on low passes but the other thing that makes it hard is neither of the bigs can jump so can not lob it high either

Who watches a game not live? At that point, I’d rather see the score, if they lose I’d rather not waste my time.
I watch games not live often due to other life stuff. Watch it later in day it's no different if you don't know the score, still interesting game entertainment. and the plus is can fast forward through commercials, half time, and free throws if you want
