Why blame Manning when Purdy is missing so many throws?

Quit talking nonsense on a young man that has made this program relevant. Back then you used to be excited for QB like Steele Jantz or Sam Richardson

Stop acting like he alone made the program relevant. He does not deserve to be crapped on nor does he deserve all the credit. I'm guessing Kene, Breece, rose, Isheem, Vance, McDonald, etc... let alone Campbell and his staff have made the program relevant. Kolar, Allen, Montgomery, etc.

The idea that he's trudged a bunch of scrubs and on ones to relevance is maddening and insulting to all the other players. yes, the QB's get all the credit - or the blame and I get that.

But I guess I just reached a breaking point tonight.


Butler, Lazard, Lanning, heck, Kempt played a role in making this program relevant. Yes, he holds the records but IMO by no way shape or form is he alone the reason we are relevant.

Does he get dumped on un fairly? hell yes but that's the life of the Quarterback to some degree. He's been a great Cyclone, a great human being and a good football player. He's not perfect, he's not elite, but he has been good enough to HELP us reach a new level.


If you go around the country and ask about Iowa State, even football people will probably know this:


1) Running backs (Montgomery, Hall)
2) Tight ends
3) 3 man front defensively
4) Campbell and the coaching staff and the team never quits


those are probably the 4 main things - not in order - people think of nationally atm.

This game just verifies what this season has taught us:

1) This is the best era in ISU FB history - the best players and the best coaching staff. Even with our (disappointing) record, there was only 1 game we were truly not competitive in all season.
2) We are FAR from being elite and won’t get to that level without structural changes being made in the program.
