The freshmen thread appears to be going nicely but I feel there is a need for everyone to tell their tales of the day. So I ask: How was your first day of the 2012 fall semester? Did everything go as planned? Was your professor a big dbag and give you homework?

Today was the start of my 4th year here and I learned the orange 23 bus doesn't stop at the bus stop on Beach, just south of Lincoln Way. My roommate and I needed to catch the blue 3 south bus but one wasn't going to come for another 20 minutes so we decided to walk from the MU to said bus stop to catch the orange bus to Jack Trice. We make to the bus stop and wait for maybe 30 secs when an orange bus comes up. Bus blew right by us. Pretty sure the bus driver flipped us off as he drove by. So we ended up walking the whole 2-3 miles back to apartment by the east HyVee.

Well golf was my first class so safe to say that was a success..... Also, I'm pumped to have D. Deam on Thursday.

Deam is a champ. Ive had him for 3 classes and they've all been really good.

Yeah it was a little disappointing. I don't think any of my first days were really that memorable. I did have some classes that we basically started class on day 1 and went the full day. Was kind of hard to get back into the groove after taking the summer off.

My worst Cy-Ride experience was when I was a freshman and went mud sliding one night. Ames had a bunch of rain in a short period of time so it was really muddy. I went with a group of guys around Friley but we heard there were a bunch of people playing games in the mud over by BWR. We went over there for a little while but it was getting late and people started to head back to the dorms. When we were walking back a bus driver asked if we wanted a ride back to our dorms so we hopped on. Turns out he drove us to towers and parked the bus there for the night. He was laughing until he got in his car and drove off. Had we been thinking we probably should have covered him in mud, but we were shocked by this and couldn't believe what he did.

Not a student anymore, but my first day of class freshman year the fire alarm went off around 8:20am in MacKay and I didn't have another class until 12:10. Was a nice start to college. My last class before finals in fall 2010, a fire alarm went off. I feel like my college experience went full circle in that time.

I took the blue south only to find out it turned into 1a red and I needed to get off at the beach lincoln stop. Bus driver was kind enough to take me to that stop even though I was the only one on the bus. I guess there was another bus going that route or something...I was a little confused.

I realized today after watching some of the students that I may have watched too many Korean Dramas. I saw someones hair cut and I immediately thought, they must be Korean. wow....

I was heading to State Gym yesterday and an internet connection popped up. The connection was called "Surveillance Van 2". Thought that was pretty creepy. Did a double take and it wasn't a joke.

i was at taco john's/mcdonalds in Ankeny last week and a co-worker had a connection pop up and it was "ankeny PD surveillance". we couldn't find a surveillance looking vehicle so we figured it was some high schooler with a mobile hot spot.

Saw that too. Was probably a freshmen trying to be funny.
