He is definitely physically ready, has been recognized as one of the best defenders at the high school level, and also has experience playing in Europe. Playing against competition other than high school can be a plus depending on the quality of competition. With our current roster, I see him getting PT earlier than the other high school recruits, primarily due to his physical development and defense.
His HS team plays on a national circuit against the best players in the country as well. I believe I saw they play on espn2 or U next Thursday in the "national championship" tournament

No. The hope should be that we get a good transfer that can back up tamin or play with the ball well enough and then beat teams badly enough that he gets some mop up duty minutes. There’s no reason we can’t be more realistic about this.

He reminds me of Gilbert with better pull up jumper and midrange game. He even showed step back 3 pointer off the dribble. I am really excited about this this player.
I agree with the Gilbert comp given the defense, quick hands, strength on the drive and finish, and unfortunately the lack of a natural shooting touch. While I think Toure seems like he has more athletic explosiveness, I'd actually say that KG has better balance on jumper. I'm guessing that will be an area of focus this Summer.

On that note; I've shared this in another thread but I stumbled upon the vid below trying to find more on Toure.

The work is getting put in at the very least! I cannot for the life of me find season long #s on his shooting but a scout posted like 47% from three for him which feels higher than I'd have guessed based on the fluidity which still doesn't quite seem there. If it works, though, it works.

His athletic traits and willingness to get after it defensively are huge for earning PT, if he actually can shoot the ball, too, he's going to be hard to keep off the court.

Good point re: the jumper, he tends to drift instead of going straight up which leads to inconsistency. I’m sure the staff will work with him on that.

As successful as we were playing small ball this year I wonder if Jefferson might get the bulk of his minutes as a five leaving Milan with Pleta getting a bunch at the four.
He is not as effective defensively at the 5, unless opponent is also going small. He is better against a 4 on offense also because he like to "push" people inside. Let's Milan be a three where his size helps him.

Toure does not start or has yet to see action. I know he plays for a good HS program but what's the story here?
