Tyler Harris to Memphis.

Good for Tyler.
Harris should will get plenty of opportunity to play right away and succeed in front of his home fans. I'll be checking in on him to see him torch some AAC guards the next few years.

(Just as important TH won't be facing ISU as Baylor's PG for 4 years. Drew has had a lot of success with small quick PG's ala Pierre Jackson)

Looks like ESPN made an update. Don't really follow their rankings too closely but does anyone know the scout grade for the commits before this update? I think THT moved up from #75 to #63 in the top 100 but that's all I remember.

THT - #63, 4 Star. Scout Grade: 85
Zion - Not top 100, 4 Star. Scout Grade: 80
Haliburton - 3 star. Scout Grade: 78
Conditt - 3 star. Scout Grade: 77

ESPN does not do very well with rankings. For a while they got really into it but the last two years they have just kind of gone with what others have said. Kind of like if we studied that tope 150 and just decided what we thought. They still have Zion WIlliams at number two when the rest have him moving down.

That's actually some very impressive game action. Maybe he just hasn't gotten the exposure to get a decent ranking. Hard to say on such little footage but he does things that a lot of 6'8" guys can't.

Based on limited film, my amateur opinion is that he should be a take if we miss on Nixon. He looks like he has a high upside, but right now a sit out guard is probably a bigger need, IMO.

If you take this kid, I guess it may increase your odds of landing a big time guard in 2019 though. And you can usually find a decent grad transfer guard if need be.

There are a number of other sit out guards available right now. I fully expect we hear of other transfer guards targets soon and get visits set even with the planned visit on Nixon. Nixon isn't planning on committing to the middle of may after all.

Harge could be a sleeper but I wouldn't expect an offer before the transfer season after more evaluation. The staff has been burned on a few of the under the radar recruits in the past and it would limit the ability to get a mid season transfer if they don;t get one this spring. Prudence with the last scholly is an advantage this staff has and they have shown they are being patient in offering to the best option.

I’ll be shocked if Nixon waits til mid May to commit. Doubt he even takes all 4 visits, transfers rarely do.

Found this quote on Harge. He must be a really late bloomer if these are his Junior year in High School Stats

Harge gave Smoky Hill 7.2 points and 5.1 rebounds a game as a junior and the top ten recruit in Colorado is working on every facet of his game.
