I'm a big fan of DJ. Seems like a gentle giant and when he plays pissed off he can be a force. I'd say the last two games and KU at Hilton he seemed to be in that mode.

I like here how he basically says it's a revenge type of thing but doesn't take anything away from BYU; they're a physical team and it's up to ISU to match their intensity.

Kelderman playing is validation for him from the coaches & overall team. Seem to recall he showed up quite a bit as a winner during off season scrimmages & workouts, so he must still be improving & showing it in practice in season, hence the trust & opportunity given him by the staff. The fact he's playing is not an indictment of Nojus, who I think has the ability & skills to be an excellent D1 player. Quit seeking immediate gratification for someone else because of their recruiting ranking, etc. Real life doesn't work like some dynasty mode on a gaming console.

@cyclones500 we've got one for sportsball post of the year.

What a great interview. It's good that he's very aware of the Hilton games.

You have 2013 and 2019 reversed. Both brutal losses that I don’t blame you for blocking from memory.
Actually, I'm not confusing the two. I know '19 was late-night, it's my memory being hazy about '13. And from most evidence I've seen here, 2013 game tipped earlier than I recall (i.e., I'm probably incorrect).

I really want to beat BYU. After that if we lose to Houston so be it. BYU must be destroyed!

A loss wouldn't be a big deal, but I think two wins in the Big 12 would be a very successful week.

it was a good win but we benefited from a Cincy team that was exhausted, hence the burst at the end that made the game look less close than it really was. Turnovers remained a huge issue. Against BYU we will lose if we have that many.
Never underestimate a cornered raccoon.

I don't recall seeing DJ interviewed previously (my bad).
Like the majority of clones (no matter the sport), classy and well spoken. I LOVE this about our program!

My recollection matches yours re: ISU-Ohio State 2013. I trust @theshadow on this, but I could swear it was in at least second-to-last tip window of the day. (I am not a reliable source when it comes to memory for that).
The 2013 game was the Sunday early round of 32 game (IIRC) in Dayton. We lost 78-75 on a last second 3 by Craft. I remember it well. My dad passed that day at age 81 during the game when we were at the hospital.
