~ Haven't read anything on this thread, but the burning question I have:
Anyone in attendance in Tempe Saturday see any #turds wearing Hawkeye gear?

I'm guessing 'yes'

I can't remember if I saw it here, or in Facebook group, that someone mentioned seeing a dozen Hawkeye fans.

Bobby Hurley just moved up to the top of the list of Big 12 coaches I dislike (Jerome Tang and he are tied). Complete douche, and my opinion has not changed at all from his days at Duke. Hope he loses ever game going forward.

Glad the good guys pulled it out. The ASU players were on Saturday, and could have been a bad loss.

Probably my favorite thing about CF is people will call any coach a ******bag if they are constantly whining about the refs and then we have the same people in the game threads….whining about the refs the entire game.

Isn’t it the same thing?

It's such a dumb ******* thing to whine about anyway. We were up 8 with 3:30 to go and he's getting 2 FT either way. That extra possession we got resulted in a turnover anyway. The call quite literally had no effect on the outcome of the game, whereas your team routinely handing us the ball in the final 5 did.

Whether it's Fran or a Hurley it's not hard to see how a coach's mental makeup effects their team. When everything is everyone else's fault, it's hard to facilitate much mental toughness within your team.
Teams feed off the attitude of their coaches. If when team starts falling behind the coach goes mental and starts blaming the refs, then the team can pick up on that and start to panic. Otz can be intense, but when ISU falls behind you don't see him losing his cool like that. I think that's a big reason why the team doesn't panic.

I live in Phoenix, and ASU has become my second team (with 6 sons/stepsons being Sun Devils). I see what they've doing with their football program. I'd like to see them bring in a new coach for basketball to see if they can build something. In ten years he's gone to the tournament 3 times and never made it past the final 32. (Assuming they aren't going this year.) I don't know why they keep him around. The name I guess. He had a good recruiting class come in this year, but so far, he has no one of note coming in next year and losing a lot of seniors who contribute.

No, fans complaining in a game thread is not the same thing as a coach publicly complaining during/after a game.

Actually you’re right it’s not the same. The refs can actually hear a coach doing it during the game and maybe can influence some calls. ;)
