Bellinger sucks at the plate. Horrible.Huge get
Big time power. Great glove. If he can return close to his 2019 days it’ll be fantastic. Better than anything else we could get right now.Bellinger sucks at the plate. Horrible.
Just a 1 year deal so no real biggie but yeah he is definitely a boom or bust player. He could be god awful or if he gets back on track could be in the NL MVP race. It will probably be the former but worth taking a shot at. Cubs have the money.Bellinger sucks at the plate. Horrible.
One year, and Heyward's 22 mil will come off the board after 2023 so they have 40 mil to get a final piece in 24.1 year 17.5 mil. I'm ok with that. Either will turn out to be a good signing or if he is a bust is not going to affect the payroll long term
The Cubs payroll at 200 mil is a pipe dream. They would have to really get aggressive and then some to get there. Even if they sign all 3 which I would have to pick my jaw off the ground if they did they probably still would fall short of 200 as they don't have much on the payroll right now.I’m going to guess the Cubs look at getting around the $210 million mark in 2023. Sitting at $104 now and you can probably add another $10ish from arbitration.
I do not expect it, but could realistically add Swanson, Boegarts, and Senga and be fine. Only question then becomes 1B. I’d rather find something other than Wisdom/Mervis platoon. Unpopular amongst Cubs outlets, but I’d like Mancini because he’s a clubhouse guy, he’s cheap, and he could platoon 1B and be a 4th outfielder until Davis is ready
Wouldn't signing a Pitcher, catchet and new left side of the infield get them to 200 mil?The Cubs payroll at 200 mil is a pipe dream. Depends on who you sign and for how much. Depends on arbitration and who you keep but the Cubs have money to spend according to this: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/chicago-cubs/payroll/Wouldn't signing a Pitcher, catchet and new left side of the infield get them to 200 mil?
