Lester making milestones tonight. However, for as well as he is pitching, he is getting his pitch count worked. Gotta go 5 to get the win, and I'm sure Joe will let him go another, but id seriously consider going to the pen now with a 7 run lead.

Oh ****. Hector coming in with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Nobody out. Cubs are going to give this all back, aren't they?
What if Contreras ends up being the best of the bunch? I know, it's silly talk, but man is he gonna be special.

I read that he had the #2 WAR amongst all MLB catchers a couple weeks ago. Have to believe he has only improved those numbers since.
I think he may prove to be the most valuable of the bunch, due to his position. But Bryant is and will be the best player.

Dang, save some of these runs for Thursday afternoon when I'll be at Wrigley.
You know the wind will be blowing in and it will be a 2-1 game. Probably rest Rizzo and Bryant for you too.
I know. It's only supposed to be a high of 67 with a 50% chance of storms. Figures.
I've been to quite a few Cub games and it has happened to me more times than not. I've seen my fair share of Cub wins at Wrigley, but runs always seem to be at a premium.
Safe to say the Cubs are back now? 14-3 since the All-Star break and beating up on a team with the 4th best overall record in MLB tonight.
Ditto the comments on Contreras too. It's amazing what he has accomplished so far because he originally was a corner infielder and converted to catcher in the Cubs minor league system. This is his first full season in the majors and he's already in the conversation when you start naming the elite catchers in the game.
