I think the pushback you’re getting is:

1) Literally every thread ever has fans complaining about refs. In the history of sports. You have the power to literally just Block/Ignore those that you feel fall into that bucket of “annoying fan that always blames the refs and probably never actually played competitively”. It will take you 2.7 seconds to complete this task. So yeah, knowing that you could very easily do this but instead you find it important to flood the thread (the same thread you want to be focused on game-talk) with anti-ref-complainer talk - is very annoying. We get it - you don’t think the refs influence how teams play.

2. The refs very clearly influenced HOW both teams had to play today. Iowa State didn’t respond to it as well as WVA did. Many things can be and are true at the same time.
You’re right I will stop.

My 3 posts saying “we are not playing good today it’s not the refs” is flooding the threads over the pages and pages blaming the refs.

It’s always the 2nd game after a key injury where it shows the most. 1-17 from 3. Only shooting 7 free throws all game. We are a team that gets the line at a good rate. Hope being humbled today I think helps this team moving forward. Protect the home floor and hope Milan is back by the game at Houston Feb 22nd.
I was hoping auburn would would the same effect.. they played well again.

I thought the officiating sucked.

I thought the reason ISU lost was from being impatient on offense and not getting a few threes to drop.

Also not chasing off the 3 point line.
And any one of those being corrected could have resulted in a win.

Yeah, there are things in our control that can be fixed. But we shouldn't even have to worry about **** officiating because it shouldn't exist. The team can be accountable for their shortfalls. The officials have little or no accountability. Both impact games.

God forbid Houston gets those officials. If we aren't on our a game, they'll beat us by 30.

But that’s the point. Both things can be true and WERE true today. But you think that gatekeeping the discussion is important, because reasons.

If ISU shoots 1/17 from 3 with 14 turnovers, many unforced, and don't start closing iut the perimeter they'll get beat by lots of teams.

Maybe this was the loss we needed to wake up. It seemed like the past 3-4 games we were not great but pulled it off (Kansas game we were not great and had horrible turnovers). Let’s see how we bounce back after this god awful performance.
Glad we’re at home our next game to help us bounce back

Clearly. They changed the rim dimensions too to ensure we shot 1-17 from 3.
and clearly, when you're ranked #2, the other team is going to do whatever they can to make it one of their biggest games of the season....
...Kansas has had to live their lives like that for literally their entire existence. As fans, we better get use to having to deal with stuff like this if we continue to have years like we're having. Just the way it is.

View attachment 141334 I’m afraid it wasn’t officiating, fellas. 1-17 from 3. 19 to 2 fast break points. 14 to 4 steals. Officiating was far from the cause of the loss. Iowa state was just as, if not, more physical than WVU. Looks like fouls were called pretty fairly to me.
The steals number really jumps out, that's is so bad. We just were not as active today with our hands and ball pressure.

There's been plenty of bubblish/low seed or even worse ISU teams over the years that had no business beating a top ten team but did it.

It's why we watch.

There was on both sides. If you think it was one sided, retake off your cyclone colored glasses and take a breath. ISU shot 6% from 3 today on a lot shots. That’s a huge reason we lost.
It was somewhat even on non calls, but WV was far more handsey. Style of officiating greatly favored them.

By active...you must mean grabbing because that's what WV did the whole game...a big difference between active hands and grabbing hands...BUT, the refs weren't calling it and I thought our team did a good job keeping their emotions in check and playing on.
